Midlife Thanks

I'm Not Monkeying Around - THANK YOU!
I'm Not Monkeying Around - THANK YOU!

Ever have someone do really nice things for you, and then you thank them a decent amount?

But they don’t stop doing nice things for you. They keep at it and continue to be nice, without letting up, without asking for anything, they just keep giving.

And after some amount of time, you suddenly have a panic attack that you haven’t kept up with your gratefulness for their niceness?

Lorie Sheffer, THANK YOU for being a faithful, insightful, and humorous Guest Blogger here at Mid Life Celebration.

If there’s someone in your life that could use a “reminder” thank you, today might be a good day to do it.

You Are Unique

No Two Shells Are Exactly Alike
No Two Shells Are Exactly Alike

You are unique, just like everyone else.

Most people privately think they are special in some way.

And the rest of the world is challenged to believe this, because unless you are the tallest human, the fastest, the strongest, the smartest, the longest hair, the oldest – it’s really challenging for others to readily see your uniqueness.

But each of us is unique. Every single one of us. We have something that only we bring to the party.

“You are unique, and if that is not fulfilled, then something has been lost.”Martha Graham

Major Mid Life April Fool?

MIND, BODY, SPIRIT, MONEY
MIND, BODY, SPIRIT, MONEY

Mid Life Celebration has now been writing five daily blogs for one year.

This is not an April Fool’s joke (although the timing is perfect).

I remember how it all started.  March 2009.  Our 2nd-grade son was questioning why he had to read aloud 20 minutes every day.

“If you want to be a good reader, you need to read a lot”, I said.

Then I continued, “You know I’m training for the World Championships, right?  If I want to be a good runner, I need to run a lot.”

Then, the flash of light!

“If you want to be a good writer, you should write a lot.”

What started as a simple 100-day challenge to write daily, in the five blogs, has turned into a heretical marketing and brand value proposition.

Midlife Shakespeare

“What’s past is prologue.” – Shakespeare

What’s past is simply what got us to where we are today. I’m thankful for that.

What’s here and now, is what will be past tomorrow. I’m thankful for that too.

What lies in the future is the choice we get to make. Our story is being written one day, one moment at a time.

To be or not to be, I mean, to be thankful or not to be thankful, that is the question.

And starting tomorrow, December’s question is, “Am I joyful and do I spread joy?”
