Playing it safe ruins it for ourselves

Residential average near Disney World
Neighbor’s new home is almost ready for the foundation cement pour. To have a beautiful home or a beautiful soul and only being able to pick one, which would we pick?

Playing it safe denies our desire to become authentic.

Denying our desire to be authentic poisons our soul.

Our soul and our attitude are inseparable.

Poisoning the soul means poisoning the attitude.

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

This website is about our mental attitude. To easily and safely leave this site to read today’s post on jeff’s physical health website, click here.

Toughest Thing About Being A Success?

“The toughest thing about being a success is that you’ve got to keep being a success”.Irving Berlin

Most people go through their life and never comprehend what Irving Berlin is saying here.  It is what it is.

Here’s the thing though.  What do you say?  What do you think?

Do you ever get tired of criticizing other people?  Or does it somehow, foolishly, elevate your life past mediocrity?

These are things that run through my head every single day.  Thought I’d attempt to challenge your thinking.

Oh wait, maybe you want to criticize that.  Hey, at least I’m trying. What are you doing right now that focuses on challenging your status quo?

Mid Life Purple Cow?

Mid Life Purple Cow?  It’s ok if you don’t know what this is.

It’s ok. But it’s a shame. Not a big shame, but a shame nevertheless.

Better late than never, right? So I began reading Seth Godin’s Purple Cow last week. Finished it yesterday.

If you seek encouragement because you dream bigger than most, and you often feel “stupid” when people comment on your big dreams, this is a must read.

It will make you feel better. I guarantee it (unless you’re an alien).

If you are a Purple Cow (remarkable), most of the herd dislikes you because you’re different. Because you’re annoying; threatening, in a way.

Being remarkable is risky. Playing it safe is risky. In life, we get to pick one. Don’t be a chicken.
