Endless Junior year

i think i wanna be a college junior for the rest of my life. A Junior is confident in a way freshmen and sophomores can’t be. Juniors are thinking about the future more seriously than ever, but they always have another year to sort it out.

A Senior is too much pressure for me. The future is here. Gotta get a job and do real life stuff.

As a sophomore you’re still learning. Still a relative newbie.

Freshmen, well, they’re too uncertain, unconfident, inexperienced.

Junior year is the sweet spot.

i wanted to be able to say, “After 30 years at Disney, it was really scary to leave.

And since October 31, 2014, i have.

Eleven years since turning in my Jungle Cruise Skipper hat at Magic Kingdom wardrobe.

Note: Yesterday i said writing will continue after April Fool’s Day (in 3 weeks). Writing, yes; probably daily. Blogging, no.

Always working

social media screen shot of working life chart
Note: This is not a video. It’s a screen shot from a LinkedIn post about our working years. ‘Never not working’ is starting to consistently float in my consciousness. Have always known it is true but rarely think about it. Until recently.

Starting to taste ‘not working’.

Note: Also brainstorming a hybrid retirement.
