My Daughter Has Brain Cancer

“Are you heading home”?, I asked the women (73) in the window seat.

“No, I’m going to visit my daughter (47) who has brain cancer”.

Then she asked me the same question and I asked her, “Can you please give me a few minutes so I can comprehend what you just said”?

A routine day. A routine trip.  A routine question.

A wake up call answer.

And just the day before I was taking about “Living before you die” with another man in mid life.

It’s like someone is telling me, do it, start writing and get your book out there. Too many people are sleeping.

Mid Life Thursday?

Mid Life Thursday?  Seems like it surely must be so.

Here’s a good one:

“How far you go in life depends on you being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant of the weak and the strong.  Because someday in life, you will have been all of these”.  — George Washington Carver

It finally hit many years ago that this is absolutely true.  It’s very hard to imagine, even absurd, that I didn’t have a clue about this reality, for most of my life.

Just another reason why I love this Mid Life Celebration so much.

Only 25 days until I celebrate 50 years on our planet.  Carpe diem, jeff noel  🙂

Mid Life Wednesday?

Mid Life Wednesday?  Definitely seems so.

Here’s another quote to help us focus on Goodness:

Play like there’s no tomorrow.
Work like you don’t need the pay.
Dance like no body’s watching.
Sing like no body’s listening.
Love like you’ve never been hurt.

I often catch myself wondering if I’m all talk.

The fact that at least I try very hard every day, to live a good and decent life, is enough to keep me going.

What motivates you to live a good and decent life?

Whatever motivates you, I hope you find it abundantly today.  Carpe diem, jeff noel  🙂

Mid Life Tuesday?

Mid Life Tuesday?  Seems so.

Here’s a thought to get us going:

“The greatness of a nation and it’s moral progress can be judged by the way it’s animals are treated”.  — Ghandi

My goal in life is to become the kind of person my Dog thinks I am.  For real!

So, it’s an incredible wake up call everyday, when I’m filled with choices, to try and find the courage, strength and especially wisdom, to know what to do and when to do it.

I hope I can make my Dog even prouder than he already is.

Make it a GREAT midlife Tuesday, because if you don’t, who will?  If not today, when?  Carpe diem, jeff 🙂
