Doubtful, mind

11-second video: Last night. Finishing yard walkabout.

Doubtful you will ever sway another adult’s mental thought process.

Why?

Mystery, probably, of the adult human condition.

Interesting to think about.

Even more interesting to see where we’d place ourself.

Always working

Note: This is not a video. It’s a screen shot from a LinkedIn post about our working years. ‘Never not working’ is starting to consistently float in my consciousness. Have always known it is true but rarely think about it. Until recently.

Starting to taste ‘not working’.

Note: Also brainstorming a hybrid retirement.

Simple temperance

One of the first things i read this morning. This has been on my mind for decades.

How true is this for most of us?

We crowd our space with things and spend the rest of our lives waiting upon those things as if we are their servant.

Our things (our stuff) ask little, except:

  1. Do not get rid of me.
  2. Never stop worrying about what will happen if you discard me.
  3. Keep expanding the kingdom of things (stuff).

Easy and ease, mind

Ease isn’t easy until it is.

Easy is for routine stuff. Say walking.

But walking was desperately hard as a newborn. Yet after a year or so relentlessly trying we only take a single step.

Fast forward to your life today.

Consistently walking with purpose (not a stroll), for a purpose (health, errand, social) can be done with ease, but it’s not easy. And because it’s not easy, most don’t (can’t) do it.

Note: Walking for health, to do an errand, or to be social is not easy because there are so many other easy things (driving, Amazon, excuses) to do.
