It’s such an insignificant question isn’t it?

Apple iPhone 6 makes front page news

What do you get when you combine 9/11 and five days until Christmas?

It’s such an insignificant question isn’t it?

Who cares.

Sucking the marrow out of life is something that only happens in movies like this.

If we could live fully alive, what would that sound like, feel like, look like, taste like?

We poison our souls so slowly we never notice.

What do you indulge in these days?

ATT home screen during iPhone5s release
There was a short online wait at 3:01AM EST this morning

What do you indulge in these days? By midlife, we have earned certain discretions for a variety of unique reasons. Even though the route home passes by one of Apple’s flagship stores on the way from the airport today, couldn’t resist indulging in waking up in the middle of the night to be among the first to order the iPhone 5s.

An Apple A Day

An Apple A Day?

An Apple A Day?

Technology for mid-lifers, and many others actually, is scary.  But it doesn’t need to be.

Heck, as we heard in Lorie Sheffer’s Guest post yesterday, Marriage can be scary.  Remember what her grandson said, “Doesn’t anyone stay together anymore?”

Maybe a good question for Baby Boomers is, “Doesn’t anyone keep up with technology anymore?”  How do you address this?Head in the sand” or “take the hill”?

Mid Life Fanatic

Mid Life Fanatic. Why yes, yes I am.

Why wouldn’t anyone want to be a mid life fanatic? Actually, why wouldn’t anyone want to be fanatical about life? Period.

Fanatical. Defined as excessive enthusiasm.

Enthusiasm is just another word for attitude. Attitude is up to you. No one else. Period.

We get one chance to have enthusiasm. It’s the time between our birth and our death.

Ya with me?  Seriously.  Are you with me?  Carpe diem 🙂

Mid Life Self-Discipline

Mid Life Self-Discipline. We may never be perfect, but we can be better.

Discipline is remembering what you want.

First we form habits, then they form us. Conquer your bad habits or they will conquer you.

If you do not conquer self, you will be conquered by self.

The chief cause of failure and unhappiness is trading what you want most for what you want now.

If we don’t discipline ourselves, the world will do it for us.

You never will be the person you can be if pressure, tension and discipline are taken out of your life.
