Decade solstice?

Sunrise at 7:11 AM today. Photo: approximately 7:00 AM today.

Here’s an intriguing excerpt from a daily business email recapping the hottest news…

Insigniam, a consulting firm, founder Shideh Bina wrote this “response”:

More than any decade I can recall (in the six I have lived through), the next decade will be defined by how well we, as leaders, and as citizens, respond to challenges and threats to our foundational beliefs, structures and institutions. Will we respond with wisdom, courage, accountability and creativity to our climate, our political storms, our vast inequities, our soon-to-be obsolete skills base and our deeply engrained biases about each other and about how things “ought to be”? If we respond well we can turn these threats into glorious, transformative opportunities. If not, we will preside over tragedy. The transformation required to prevail also requires a transformation of ourselves as leaders and how we think and act. The decade has not been written, the pen is our hands.

Shideh Bina

Personal vibrancy and personal transformation begins when we convince ourselves that balance is not a myth.

Happy Summer Solstice 2019

Couple days ago flying home from Glacier. Massive weather system. Summer means daily thunderstorm season in Central Florida.

Happy Summer Solstice 2019.

Solstices come and go, mostly unnoticed.

Over-focusing on the same things i used to under-focus on or ignore, solstices are now significant spiritual experiences.

To consciously recognize our progress as we make another trip around the Sun – solstices (there are four) are meaningful progress reports.

Happy Easter and Summer Solstice

Disney Cast t-shirt from 1980’s
Disney Cast t-shirt from 1980’s. Found it yesterday.

Easter and Summer Solstice happen today.

Easter as i write this post.

Summer solstice as this post goes public.

Easter, to me, is the most important day in the history of the world.

Summer in Pennsylvania growing up was hands down the favorite season – love warm weather.

Summer in Florida since 1982 is the least favorite because it takes hot to a whole new level – literally unbearable (with the humidity).

Whatever you celebrate, even if it’s nothing, may today be extra-ordinary.

Winter Solstice 2018 means what to you?

Excuses
Can’t and won’t are not related. Not even close.

Winter Solstice 2018 means what to you?

Randomly, it means there are 10 days until New Year’s Eve – the biggest drinking day of the year.

Will you tip a glass of good tiding to ring in another year?

Secondly, there are four days until the biggest gift-giving day of the year.

My business and my life is anchored in .think .differently

Last night this thought:

i don’t challenge everyone to do something they can’t do, i challenge everyone to do something they are afraid to do.

It’s our classic battle between can’t change and won’t change.

The two are not the same, even though most of us lie to ourselves claiming they are.

Winter and The First Robin

Alaska
Alaska

Winter. Winter Solstice. First day of Winter.

It’s obviously winter in the northern states, with the freezing temperatures and all the snow.

But in Central Florida and at the Walt Disney World Resort, it’s difficult to tell when winter arrives, if in fact it ever does.

So today, as we mark the official calendar day that winter starts, I am still listening for the first sign that winter has arrived.

The morning we hear the first Robin Red Breast chipping, we are quietly full of Joy. That’s when winter officially starts for us.
