Decade solstice?

Sunrise at 7:11 AM today. Photo: approximately 7:00 AM today.

Here’s an intriguing excerpt from a daily business email recapping the hottest news…

Insigniam, a consulting firm, founder Shideh Bina wrote this “response”:

More than any decade I can recall (in the six I have lived through), the next decade will be defined by how well we, as leaders, and as citizens, respond to challenges and threats to our foundational beliefs, structures and institutions. Will we respond with wisdom, courage, accountability and creativity to our climate, our political storms, our vast inequities, our soon-to-be obsolete skills base and our deeply engrained biases about each other and about how things “ought to be”? If we respond well we can turn these threats into glorious, transformative opportunities. If not, we will preside over tragedy. The transformation required to prevail also requires a transformation of ourselves as leaders and how we think and act. The decade has not been written, the pen is our hands.

Shideh Bina

Personal vibrancy and personal transformation begins when we convince ourselves that balance is not a myth.

Wellness whiplash

As a general rule, everything takes longer than expected. If Disney Ran Your Life podcast is no exception.

Wellness whiplash is when we regularly apply decent focus and discipline, but cave during the holidays, or anytime, when our stress is peaking.

A key insight is knowing there will always be stressful life situations. Some are predictable and others surprise us.

Personal vibrancy, in layperson’s terms, balance, is the key to defending everything you’ve worked for and everything you hope to maintain and grow.

Loving how If Disney Ran Your Life podcast is evolving and becoming a wise and self-directed resource for people on a journey to control the controllable and let go of the uncontrollable – and of course, the wisdom to tell them apart.

Who’s the most positive person you know?

Snapped and sent this photo to an executive yesterday.

Who’s the most positive person you know?

Hint, it’s a trick question.

PS. Happy Valentine’s Day.

Would Your Life Change?

Merry Christmas 2019

Writing is not going to make you famous. Writing won’t make you more popular. Writing is no way to earn a living. Why write then? For how it changes you. Ninety percent of writing is half mental.

Christmas is 60 days away from this morning, and i’m present and mindful to recognize this.

It’s fascinating how daily, purposeful writing has improved my life – and how daily writing improves the lives of everyone else who consistently writes.

If you decide to give gifts to loved ones this year, perhaps the simple gift of encouragement – to journal, to blog, whatever.

Also encourage them to not use personal social media platforms.

Why?

Because people appreciate your consideration when you create a “business page” separate from personal updates. Another option is to buy a domain name and blog there. Allow others to opt in versus being stuck because they are your family or friend.

Want a personal advantage?

Excuses
Can’t and won’t are not related. Not even close.

Want a personal advantage?

When given the choice (and you always have control of how you choose) always choose to see things as opportunitiees or challenges.

The minute you label something a problem, it becomes one in your mind.
