World Championship Mid Life

Whether mid-life celebration or mid-life crisis, what would it take to be world class?

Not sure exactly.

Perhaps, it’s as simple as just being consciously aware of the fact that none of us will live forever.

We all know the truth subconsciously, don’t we? How can we not?

Want another truth? We can truly begin to live when we have achieved a heightened consciousness of the truth.

I guess that’s what it would take to have a world-class mid-life celebration.

At least that’s been my experience.

Mid Life Greetings from Finland

Mid Life Crisis and Mid Life Celebration greetings from Finland.

I’m here, representing the USA at the Master’s Track & Field World Championships.

I competed yesterday against the world’s best 400 meter runners in the 50-54 age group, finishing sixth in the first of seven heats.

My time was embarrassing by my standards, for a variety of reasons, yet my effort to make it this far is completely Gold medal worthy.

It reminded me, as you probably already know, doing our best is really what we all desire.

I vow to do my very best today.  A day is a terrible thing to waste.

Carpe diem, jeff noel midlife 🙂

What Would You Do If….

What would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail?

Boy, if you knew you couldn’t fail, it’s almost too easy, isn’t it?

But what if you could fail?  What if the odds are against you that you will fail.

Changes everything, doesn’t it?

Why?

That’s all I ask, “Why”?

I believe that life is hard, there are no guarantees, rewards are proportional to your effort.

Just to be clear, we’re not talking about becoming a millionaire. Simple stuff. Important stuff. Things that matter.

And the things that matter aren’t even things.

It’s stuff like Faith, Hope, Love, Gratitude, Forgiveness, Self-Control, Joy, Peace, and a few others.

So glad my mid-life crisis quickly turned into a mid-life celebration more than a decade ago.

Mid Life in Finland?

Mid Life in Finland?

Yes.  Arrived yesterday.

Woke at 5AM local time, after a good eight hours of restful sleep.

Today is a brand new day. Of course, being at the Master’s World Championships is a huge jolt to my mid-life psychological stimulation.

I mean, who would have every thought? Me. World Championships?

What I try to do, and what I have already done, is stay motivated to live a Mid Life Celebration, so my wife and young son can see that Mid-Life is a blessing to be looked forward to.

Not some curse of mid-life crisis.

Make it a GREAT day, because if you don’t, who will?  If not today, when?
