Today is January 28…

Four weeks into 2016 and we should be off to an exciting start to our new beginning.

Right?

Yet the echo haunts us…

“But I don’t do New Year’s Resolution. They never work. I’m tired of failing.”

Self-fulfilling prophecy?

What if it wasn’t?

What if the exact opposite always happened?

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

Unencumbered

This is my word for 2016.

For 2015 it was…

Lean

A single word, the right word, has the power to transform people.

And if not people, it can still transform one.

Note: Lean wasn’t about body weight, it was and still is about everything in our life being lean. Minimalistic is the next closest word, however, it didn’t resonate as well personally.

Excitement or trepidation for 2016?

Excitement or trepidation?

Excitement or trepidation for 2016? We have five days, counting today, to launch our new year plan. That is, unless you’re a freak and you decided to begin somewhere between Summer and Fall.

A toast…to all the freaks out there.

When habits are changed, new life is born

Happy Autumnal Equinox!

Not the salutation we’d expect on January 1, 2015.

Feeling on fire with anticipation today?

That’s the magic of challenging the way we’ve always done things.

Writing this on September 23, 2014, it’s so easy to taste the future yet savor the current moment and the days ahead.

Like double dipping.

Last January 1st, as an experiment in humility, began omitting key words:

I, my, me, or mine.

A major life transition is something we wait for all our lives.

When habits are changed, new life is born

But if we don’t find creative, purposeful ways to change, guess what happens?

Nothing.

A year from now we’ll wish we had started something today.

Busiest Day of the Year?

“Tomorrow is always the busiest day of the year”.Jonathon Lazear

Ain’t it the truth?  At least that’s the way it feels.  Why?

You may feel differently.  But for me, it seems like tomorrow is “the day” that, “I’ll finally be able to catch up with things“.  So I race hard to get so much done.

Time marches on and there is simply more to take the place of that which has been done.  Ever heard the phrase, “busy beaver“?  Beavers work hard every day, repairing their dam, fixing their den, looking for food, etc.  Seems there is always lots of work to do.

What’s the solution?  If I knew that, tomorrow would be looking like a vacation day, eh?
