When was your happiest year?

When was your happiest year?

Imagine getting to a place where our memories never trumped our dreams.

When you get to this stage in life, your happiest year is the year you are currently in.

Note: this second consecutive photo-less day is intentional. Doesn’t feel right, but this is the way it was a decade ago.

Hello 2020

Planned on 8 hours. Didn’t happen.

Hello January 1, 2020, how may i help you?

And hello November 1, 2019, did you send the biggest proposal of your life yesterday?

Will your actions today and on New Years Day inspire you in remarkable ways?

What if they do?

What if they do not?

PS. Didn’t send biggest proposal. Sitting on it for a few decent reasons. Glad i trusted my gut to wait.

Not even close

January 1, 2019, while biking to Magic Kingdom. Note date and time in upper right.

It’s not even close to NewYears Day, but i’ve been thinking about it a lot.

Why?

As a business owner, i’m reflecting on 2019 and thinking ahead to 2020.

Why, when the new year is at least 2.5 months away?

Because it excites me to think about the future.

Because i’m tired of dragging my feet on a couple things.

And finally, because the clock (my clock) is ticking.

The 10-year plan has less than 30 days.

Disney Podcast
Yesterday the latest episode (Season 2, Episode 4) didn’t arrive like it automatically should. Now 18 weeks into the weekly publishing, this is concerning. It will get resolved.

The original 10-year plan has less than 30 days.

The plan was and still is: What would you do if you had only 10 years left to live?

A new, continuing plan is (and has been) in the works.

It’s revolving around a one, two, or three year addendum.

Son, four college years will fly by (in hindsight). In the present, the weeks may drag, but trust me, a decent sense of urgency will alleviate regret for missed or neglected opportunities when you evaluate your college years after graduation.

Happy New Year 2019

Waiting for a calendar date to commit is flawed.

Picking a date (any date) to fully engage our resolve is generally helpful.

Any day of the year is a good day to do any of the following three…

•  rethink  •  reprioritize  •  recommit

Rethinking is step one.

Rethinking is typically a catalytic response to a wake up call.

Rethinking helps us discover some obvious habits we need to confront and change.

Too much sugar can lead to a heavy body, and too many distractions can lead to a heavy mind.

It is never too late to change.

A year from now you’ll wish you had started today.
