Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother’s Day!

What a joy it must be to have the honor, and blessing, to be called Mother, Mom, or my personal favorite, Mommy!

And if you’re a Mom at Mid Life, hope you and yours have a great Mid Life Celebration today.

A mid-life quote, just to sprinkle a little mid life insight on your thoughts today:

The real compensation of a right action is inherent in having performed it“.  — Seneca

Make it a GREAT mid life celebration for the special Mothers, Grand Mothers, and Great Grand Mothers, in your life.  Carpe diem, jeff noel  🙂

Mid Life Saturdays?

Happy Mid Life Saturday.  And, a mid-life quote:

“Rather suffer an injustice than commit one”.  — Unknown

Took me a looooong time to comprehend this.  But now I do.

Carpe diem, jeff 🙂

PS.  I’ve found many people too busy for self-reflection and contemplation.  It is what it is.  No right or wrong “answer”.

Which one are you?  One who does, or one who does not?

Mid Life Errors?

Mid Life Errors?

“Rather an error of the intellect, than an error of the heart”. —  jeff noel

There have been times in my life when I’ve made “stupid mistakes“.  And I’m certain there are more to be made as long as I’m alive.  Ya with me?

However, there have been very few that I’ve intentionally gone out of my way to be hurtful.

It’s my intention to never do that again, ever!

While I’ll never be labeled a genius, there’s still a chance to be labeled “a good man with a good heart“.

Carpe diem, jeff noel 🙂

Most Beautiful Mid-Life Compensation?

It is one of the most beautiful compensations of life that no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself“. — Ralph Waldo Emerson

There isn’t much more a person can say after that, except maybe, “Please read it again“.

Make today a great mid-life day to help someone.  Carpe diem, jeff 🙂

Little eyes are watching your mid-life

Little eyes are watching your mid life.

Here’s a poem a friend sent after he read a Lane 8 post, entitled, “Who’s Watching You“, about a week ago.

Little eyes are watching you

There are little eyes upon you
and they’re watching night and day.
There are little ears that quickly
take in every word you say.

There are little hands all eager
to do anything you do;
And a little boy who’s dreaming
of the day he’ll be like you.

You’re the little fellow’s idol,
you’re the wisest of the wise.
In his little mind about you
no suspicions ever rise.

He believes in you devoutly,
holds all you say and do;
He will say and do, in your way
when he’s grown up just like you.

There’s a wide eyed little fellow
who believes you’re always right;
and his eyes are always opened,
and he watches day and night.

You are setting an example
every day in all you do;
For the little boy who’s waiting
to grow up to be like you.

Reminds me of Harry Chapin’s classic folk song, “Cat’s In The Cradle“.

If you clicked the linked and watched Harry Chapin set up his song he wrote about his son Josh, you heard him say, in reference to the song’s meaning, “It scares me to death“.

Can I get an, “AMEN“!, on the scared to death part.

This is why I blog. This is why I stay positive. This is why I think so much about what I do and don’t do.

Our sons and daugthers are watching us. Carpe diem, jeff 🙂
