The number one mental attribute for doing what you say you’re going to do?

Staying positive amidst the constant challenges and pressures.

Our attitude is connected to our hope.

Our hope is connected to our dreams.

Our dreams are connected to humanity.

Midlife quirky is as midlife quirky does

Dogs dressed up like kids in baby strollers
Times Square quirky on a Saturday night.

We say crazy things to ourselves. Some we say over and over our whole life through.

Some maybe only a handful of times, ever.

What makes these different?

Is there any meaning or learning from the difference?

And who would ever care about such a thing?

Writing five daily, differently-themed blogs about life’s (5) big choices is crazy.

Crazier still is doing it for five straight years without missing a day.

And even crazier than that – the indescribable feeling things are just beginning to click.

Curious now, what’s your crazy?

Doing the same thing everyone else does, but better or differently

Pausing for a minute to give the book stuff a break. Late last night stumbled upon some beautiful art. Sean Quigley was 16 when he put this rendition of Little Drummer Boy together in 2011.

One boy, one song, he did it all, except the video (his sister did that). To honor a King. To honor his passion (music), to honor things he isn’t even aware he honors yet.

Art.

Doing the same thing everyone else does, but better or differently (and in rare cases, both):

Okay, so one little book thing. It’s art because among the many different applications people can use it for, perhaps none is more pronounced than balance.

Living with balance is art.

For starters, most social thinking is flawed

Another brand new day. What is it going to be? You are in charge of that.

Was reading yesterday and stumbled upon this statement:

You can never expect to be someone else’s priority if you aren’t your own.

What does this mean? For starters it is flawed thinking.

Why?

Because as a midlife adult, truth be told, no one will ever care more about you than you.

Everything that happens to us is our responsibility.

Running our life is like running a business, like it or not.

And not paying attention to the business details will drive us to bankruptcy.

And approaching each day in a balanced way, and with excellence, will keep our business in the black.
