Note: The motive? What if i take simplicity and focus to a new level. What if a dramatic ‘improvement’ leap in one area could increase the improvement in every other area?

Sitting poolside late yesterday afternoon for an executive coaching call.
The purging is progressing nicely. Shelves are 80% done. Yesterday i attacked the first of three 4-drawer file cabinets. The biggest “file folder” is the backup paper copies of the two lifetime quotes, sayings, and articles collection.
There’s a page per calendar day, plus some extras – about 400 pages.
Many quotes from the pre-internet easy-access decades.
What will follow in the days to come is the sharing of noteworthy quotes.
The internet makes every quote accessible. The ones shared on these blogs are the ones that crossed my path pre-internet.
Mistake, error, is the discipline through which we advance.
William Ellery Channing
To lose patience is to lose the battle.
Mahatma Gandhi
Be not impatient with thine brother, with thine neighbor, and – most of all – with thine self.
Edgar Cayce

The photo above has been missing from all five website home pages for a few weeks, off and on. Figured out why yesterday. Figuring out a technical issue is a confidence booster and it validated my preaching about taking small daily risks.
Margin and attitude net patience.
Margin is unscheduled space (time) on your calendar.
Margin is a distinguishing factor between people with personal vibrancy and people who consistently struggle to survive.
Most of my life i was over-scheduled, stressed, and struggling to survive the onslaught of each day.
It’s possible that i wasn’t over-worked. It’s possible that i was under-organized.
Margin is a luxury necessity.
Choosing an attitude of opportunity, versus adversity, is a personal and mental victory. Mental victories add up and grow like daily compound interest.
How cool is that! Use that coolness to your advantage. All day. Every day.
Update Jan. 10, 2019: The issue is back. Grateful for the Internet, for WordPress, for technology, for time to write, for ideas, etc.

Is having great patience enough to become virtuous?
Patience is a virtue.
That’s what they say.
But being patient, i believe, means all the time.
Not most of the time.
Not when it’s easy.
But when it’s painfully difficult.
Somewhere north of once a week.

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.
