Overnight success 101

Disney Podcast with jeff noel
It took me 3.5 years after knowing Jody Maberry to finally publish a Podcast.

Overnight success 101:

The long way is the short cut.

If your goal isn’t impossible, you’re not reaching high enough.

If everyone is doing it, run the other way.

Taking risks is risky, so is playing it safe.

You are the CEO of You, Inc.

Launch, learn, revise. Repeat.

Luck favors these people

Used Siri to dictate the above message walking home from gym yesterday. i don’t proof or edit Siri text messages to myself.

Here’s the original thought:

So the question everyone wants to know the answer to is:

“What does jeff noel know about life that we don’t already know?”

From that question, i can swap the word “life” with:

  • leadership
  • employee engagement
  • customer service
  • brand loyalty
  • creativity and innovation

This came to me while reflecting on the Disney Keynote Speech i gave four days ago. Also inspiring this train of thought is thinking about how to concisely position my new podcast, “If Disney Ran Your Life”

Free at last

Disney Speaker jeff noel at Orlando Ritz Carlton
Less than 24 hours ago at our local Ritz Carlton.

We saw an ocean of well-deserved accolades for MLK yesterday, on every social media channel.

You have a recurring dream, right?

i too have a recurring dream – that we achieve a manageable life pace where lessons, virtues, and ideals inspire us daily, not just when prompted by the calendar.

Free at last.

Not talking about MLK right now, i’m referring to yesterday’s choice to not use slides for the first time ever.

A 20-year speaking habit of always using slides came to an end. Learned to always use slides from the best, Disney Institute. And followed my deeply-engrained habit the first five years out on my own.

But it’s a new year.

Breakthroughs do not happen in our comfort zone. Tweet this.

Taking risks is like oxygen

Disney jeff noel customer service points
Four world-class customer service insights (the basics) and two bonus insights.

Taking risks is like oxygen. You can’t imagine not breathing oxygen.

So, you’re the same with risk? You can’t imagine not taking risks?

May your answer inspire you.

i’m going to do something today that i’ve never done before.

In exchange, i’m asking you to do the same.

What?

i’ve never spoken without slides, it’s a Disney thing.

Why?

i believe slides can potentially limit a speaker.

And i believe this speech is going to be the best Customer service keynote i’ve ever given.

i’m confident, excited, and inspired.

Now you.

In exchange, i’m asking you to do something you’ve (probably) never done before.

i’m asking you to commit to listening and participating as if my content is the most significant customer service message you will ever receive.

The worst thing about thinking this way

excuses, habits, rituals
Wellness excuses, habits, rituals. This immediately triggered a business application.

The challenge with permitting your existing culture today is that it makes you more likely to permit it tomorrow.

The challenge with not taking action today is that it makes you less likely to take action tomorrow.

The challenge with not doing what you can do today, is that it also makes you less likely to not do what you can tomorrow.
