If Disney ran your life your attitude would transform

The start of 24 hours of Disney, last week. Notice the group of people by the woman’s blue shirt.

The show must go on. Magic Kingdom Cast Member training never stops.

Attitude is not just about being positive. It’s also about determination. And patience.

Even the self-discipline of humility.

It also encompasses belief.

Our ability to commit to a belief system. Deeply. Unswayed, even at the threat of death.

Yeah, it’s that powerful.

Disney banks it’s entire future on it’s culture.

If Disney ran your life, they’d insist you do the same.

The daily battle between confidence and arrogance

Mid Life Celebration baby Boomer Keynote Speaker
Denver, Colorado last week.

The mental battle of mind over matter…

The marketing battle that takes place in our head between confidence and arrogance is brutal. It never ends.

On one hand, confidence is essential for great things to happen.

On the other hand, arrogance is like drinking poison.

The catch 22 is that the two can look like twins, even though they’re not.

And here’s what i’m learning as an entrepreneur: You have to constantly move forward. Success will not come to you. You have to (repeat, have to) go and get it.

Successful, optimistic people easily recognize confidence.

Unsuccessful, jealous people see arrogance, because it justifies their lack of courage.

i pray for both groups.

It is difficult to leave people behind.

Be confident in knowing that you are not hurting the ones left behind. They have already committed themselves to that position. It’s not your fault.

And it is also not arrogant.

What do you do? (reprise)

Corn and airplane sculpture hanging from boarding area ceiling
Yesterday at Atlanta airport.

Where are you from?

What do you do? (reprise)

Two safe and typical conference networking questions.

Our attitude drives our thoughts.

Our thoughts drive our behaviors.

Our behavior drives our results and success.

Our success results drive our happiness.

What if we abandoned the safe and typical questions and led with something from this list?:

What’s your favorite color? Why?

Not counting this conference, when was the last time you felt this alive?

What did you come here to find?

Those questions took about 20 seconds to come up with. It’s easy to think creatively when our attitude craves it.

Something has changed over the past four days

Brain Clark, CEO, Copyblogger Media

Something wonderful has changed over the past four days.

Being at the Authority Rainmaker conference in Denver revealed a transformational mindset that has actually sprouted out of the ground and is visible to the naked eye for the first time.

i’m in charge of everything.

No longer being an official brand ambassador for one of the World’s Most Admired Companies, Disney, the growth spurt is in realizing you are free of any corporate sensitivities that are necessary for a top ten World’s Most admired company.
