64 days and 4 days equal New Years Day 2019

There are 64 days before New Years Day 2019 as i type this.

And of course, there are only four days as this goes live.

Pretty cool to experience these wonderful thoughts twice.

Once, during the creation of the post.

And again a second time two months later, never knowing what the morning’s posts will bring.

This is like seeing it for the first time because so much time has passed and so many (300) other posts have been created between then and now.

One of the easiest ways to reduce stress

early morning work
A two-year-old smile-worthy FaceBook “memory” hit my feed yesterday.

One of the easiest ways to reduce stress is to lower our standards.

This is a short-term solution.

Very effective.

At some future point (a month, years, or decades even) the temporarily relieved stress can come back with a vengeance in the form of regret.

Life is hard.

Because life is hard, study, learn, apply, teach, and excel at a positive attitude.

At various times in life, setting the bar low could develop into an insidious lifetime habit.

Setting your bar low might seem reasonable, appropriate, and motivating.

Long-term, it’s anything but.

Who’s stopping you?

Yesterday. The shortcut to the grocery store. These obstacles were easy to overcome.

Arnold Schwarzenegger speech
The scary question is, “How hard is hard enough?”

Who’s stopping you?

More precisely, “Who’s stopping you from becoming what you want to become?”

Work life balance piece on local news. Watching from Hotel room bed.

Timely messages happen constantly.

Our challenge is hearing and reflecting.

Priorities.

Goals.

Many Americans don’t take enough vacation.

Their vacation banks grow as does their discontent.

Clear priorities will not allow this to happen.

Clear, concise, and compelling goals won’t either.

Go.

If your goal isn’t impossible

perseverance
You are a runner and writer but not in that order. Cross Country race Saturday, read your book (what you’ve written so far) yesterday.

If your goal isn’t impossible, you’re not reaching high enough.

Reading the first 30% of your book yesterday blew me away.

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.
