Crystalized intelligence – all bluffs will be called

wisdom
All bluffs would be called.

The years after we retire, usually at age 65, are called the golden years.

For a reason.

Aging comes with benefits.

Most importantly, we’re good at using what we’ve learned.

Call this crystallized intelligence.

Clarity.

It’s like compound interest, for wisdom.

Our first home had 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, 1-car garage (1,100 sq. feet).

That house cost $47,400 in 1985.

Our first mortgage was $45,000.

When mailing our monthly mortgage payment, an extra principal payment of just $52 saved us over $700 in interest.

i burned dozens of paper files from our 35-year marriage’s history.

Discipline is essential, but it’s not the key

Good news bad news
The good news is “you’re good”. The bad new is, “you’re good.”

Discipline is essential, but it’s not the key.

Here it is unpacked…

Yesterday morning the coach said, “You know what i’m insanely great at?”

The CEO asked, “What?”

“Discipline”, the coach exclaimed.

The CEO laughed and said, “Absolutely.”

Much later that day, as i crawled into bed i thought, “It isn’t discipline that’s the key, it’s vision.”

If you have a vision that’s clear, concise, and compelling and lights your fire, you’ll fnd a way.

When your vision is as powerful as your next breath, you’ll develop the discipline you need.

This then becomes a skill you can scale as you grow in your roles and responsibilities.

All Souls Day 2018

florida bug
Yesterday. This beautiful creature landed on a branch next to me. Didn’t have to move an inch to get this photo.

Knowing stuff is easy.

Doing stuff is hard.

Deep down in our soul, we know this.

Be an example, not a warning.
