The irony of our midlife choices is that we say one thing but do another. We hate the freezing temperatures but live there anyway. And use plastic palm trees in the corner as some sort of twisted bandaid.

We pollute our soul so slowly we never notice.

Until the wakeup call comes.

And even then…

Life is a terminal condition. We are all going to die.

And only one person knows your answer to the upcoming question…

Five plus years ago in the Mid Life Celebration brainstorming process and visioning process, a few sound bites struck like lightning.

Live, before you die.

Life is not a dress rehearsal.

Live like you mean it.

So yeah, we are all going to die.

But are we all going to live before it’s over?

Only one person knows your answer.

And only one person is in charge of this answer.

What is freedom?

A long-time friend (30 years) facilitated an answer from me in a brief conversation at the gym last night.

We can not have fear and be free

Freedom is the absence of fear.

Fear is worrying about losing an attachment to things.

Fear is worry. Attachment.

Freedom is not being attached to things.

Freedom is living in the moment – Zen like.

It was a brilliant bfo (blinding flash of the obvious) that will simmer a while longer.

Fear prompted this epic writing journey (8.5k posts so far), and letting go of fear prompted this post revelation.

Perhaps our freedom isn’t as far away as first thought.

Entrepreneurship is living five to ten years of your life like most people won’t. So you can live the rest of them like most can’t.

Something about being able to schedule your priorities versus prioritizing your schedule.

Same thing happens when you spend five to ten years getting in great physical condition – a lot of health crap and concerns disappear.

Like some yahoo who started running one mailbox a day for a week…
