Your biggest competition is who you think you can’t become

Disney Keynote Speaker
Is there any other choice?

Your biggest competition is who you think you can’t become.

If your goal isn’t impossible, you’re not reaching high enough.

Never let your memories be bigger than your dreams.

Remember, impossible isn’t something no one has done, impossible is something you haven’t yet done.

Yet.

It’s called our comfort zone for a reason

GapinVoid art
Fav cartoonist High MacLeod.

i remind our Son (17) of this frequently…

The paradox of dreaming is that our dreams turn out worse than or better than we expect.

No one has a crystal ball to get it just right.

What works comfortably for us also blinds us to what’s possible.

It’s called our comfort zone for a reason.

To add fuel to the fire for maintaining our status quo is the insidious way our past and our present rob us of what’s possible.

You must see it before anyone else will

will smith quote
Seven years ago, i posted this quote. Today, Facebook, you’ve got your work cut out for you.

You must see it before anyone else will.

Challenging because what we want to do probably feels impossible to us.

If it feels impossible, the journey rarely gets started.

Rarely?

Closer to never, actually.

So here’s some math, and history….

Nine years ago, the impossibility was for me to write for 100 consecutive days.

Made sense to write a lot – as practice – to prepare for writing my first book.

Now, six days from today, i begin year 10 of writing five daily, differently-themed blog posts.

Impossible is nothing?

Depends.

On.

You.

Are humans genetically wired to help others?

Disney Institute Keynote Speakers
Today’s photos are from years ago. This one is a Disney Institute classroom table.

Are humans genetically wired to help others?

Yes.

Now…

Imagine being 17 in today’s world versus the decade you were 17.

Can you imagine over-exposure to bullying, human massacres in schools, nuclear threats, fake news, deep division, name-calling, and blaming?

Are humans genetically wired to help others?

Easy to imagine teens being troubled.

So add one more thing to your to-do list.

Be a bright light in a dark world.

If fear and doubt made us smarter

Frank G Wells
Frank Wells was the voice of reason if Michael Eisner had any fear or doubt.

If fear and doubt made us smarter, we’d become regular Einsteins, no?

Why so much fear?

Why so much doubt?

They serve us how?

And yet we remain close to them?

Shake my head.
