As you grow and develop your brand, the most effective methods for marketing your brand will become clearer.

But remember this clarity builds only as long as you stay true to challenging conventional wisdom, which is, after all, the DNA of your brand. And that’s a big risk because it requires constantly going against the grain.

Much of life, whether we like it or not, comes down to choices.

There are two kinds of choices.

  1. The ones we make for ourselves.
  2. The ones others make for us.

Every morning for the past seven-plus years i have had the choice to spend two hours writing five blog posts. i’ve said yes 2,657 consecutive days.

And yesterday morning during a business call, i discovered that i have no choice in whether or not a client picks me over another business advisor.

So now a new opportunity. How to convince the CEO that hiring a team of people has limitations that hiring a single expert doesn’t have.

i love this.

Teaching Disney storyboarding to future leaders

Teaching a teen about Disney storyboarding this week. Reiterating simple insights from previous lessons.

In a few days he starts a class on Entrepreneurism at his High School. It is being led by Bob Allen at IDEAS. Bob Allen has a rich Disney pedigree.

Disney storyboarding is an exceptional tool to brainstorm and map out the story for anything; a movie, a new Disneyland Attraction, a vacation, a Marketing campaign, a restaurant concept, and of course, a book.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa was home for six years

Yesterday walking in for 7am meeting.

 

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa was home for six years. It was nice to go back yesterday. But it was weird to have a 7am meeting there. That hasn’t happened since 1999.

Reminded me of the those good old days, except for one thing – i was dressed in running shorts and a t-shirt.

Met a man that can best be described as a passionate risk-taker. No, not Walt Disney. But a man with a dream nonetheless.
