The one thing a Disney Storyboard won’t do for you

Hand drawn “mother-in-law” blueprint from the 1990’s. Blueprints make building infinitely easier.

The two things a Disney Storyboard will do for you and the one thing it won’t do:

  1. Helps you identify exactly what you want to write about
  2. Helps you determine exactly where it belongs in your storyline

•  •  •  •  •

  1. But it doesn’t tell you what words to write

Storyboarding doesn’t make writing a book easy, it makes it easier. This is an important distinction. One that’s easy, and deadly, to dismiss.

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

Teaching Disney storyboarding to future leaders

Teaching a teen about Disney storyboarding this week. Reiterating simple insights from previous lessons.

In a few days he starts a class on Entrepreneurism at his High School. It is being led by Bob Allen at IDEAS. Bob Allen has a rich Disney pedigree.

Today, April Fools Day 2016 something remarkable happens.

An epic writing challenge begins.

It’s even bigger than the original 2009 self-imposed 100-day writer’s bootcamp – to write five daily, differently-themed posts every single day for 100 days win a row.
