From a few days ago, a corporate marketing slogan. Same here at MLC…one new website, endless transformation.

 

After eight short years, Disney Magic is happening.

Never in a million years did i anticipate retaining a contracted worker on a monthly salary.

No more hourly-fee based payments. An agreed upon monthly amount no matter how little or how much work is completed.

Are we taking the best steps forward to be safe?

 

The only things that really matter are the things we do for others.

Teaching personifies doing things for others.

So yesterday, June 10, after offering up my time to mentor someone from the other side of the world and someone on other side of town, i had a reflective moment.

Teaching others can reach a level were you’re actually paying back all the teachers who helped you get to where you are today.

And now today, i’m weirdly aware that in 90 days, this will go live and everyone will be remembering September 11th.

i had been a speaker (teacher) only 2.5 years and was teaching at Epcot the morning the world stop turning.

Now i’ve been a speaker teacher for 17 years.

Who cares?

It took 40 years to discover i was born to teach.

How long did it take you to discover what you were born to do?

How long have you been doing what you were born to do?

Should we love uncertainty?

Yesterday in our front yard. Can road work employees consider their work art? Should they?

 

Art rarely can be scaled for a production line.

Yet Apple does it with the iPhone.

However, art, for mere mortals like you and me, cannot be scaled.

But is can be replicated in original ways every single day.

It’s called passion.

A calling.

A drive to do the ordinary in extra-ordinary ways.

And each day because we begin anew, we can never be sure of our finished product.

Sometimes we fall short, or even fail.

And this is beautiful.

It reminds us of how uncertain art can be.

Art always carries risk.

And the minute we try to remove uncertainty from our art, something dies.

Removing uncertainty destroys the thing we originally fell in love with.

Whatever we do today, it won’t be the result that makes it magic, it will be the uncertainty.

When an especially busy patch of work hits you

When an especially busy patch of work hits you:

  • Do your best
  • Stay focused
  • Know that this too shall pass
  • Find the inherent, invisible, and bountiful blessings
  • Don’t break under the pressure
  • Remember that life naturally ebbs and flows

Learn from this experience and be a little better at handling pressure next time.
