Covid19 turning point

Grocery store empty shelves
Yesterday afternoon (5 hours ahead of President Trump’s Nationwide message about European air travel ban) at the grocery store. Had inside intel advice to head to store sooner rather than later. Toilet paper was almost gone.

Adversity doesn’t develop character, it reveals it.

Not talking about daily adversity.

Talking about Covid19 and other world catastrophes (remember 9/11?).

The adverse event is the test, not the studying (development).

Optional development can occur after you receive your test score.

Dear Past

dear world
At Rollins College cafeteria yesterday.

Dear Past, thank you for all the lessons.

Dear Future, if you will have me, i am ready.

Dear Me, i know you’re invested in the path you’ve created, but it’s time to walk away from it.

You cannot demand your way to commitment from others.

You can only (repeat, only) inspire and develop others to become committed.

And even with that, the odds of others being inspired by what you do is low.

Wish i had better news for you.

Your attitude in hearing this news right now….

Adversity doesn’t develop character, it reveals it.

Go.

You can do this.

It will be hard.

You will want to turn around – to quit, to retreat, to not change.

You know you can’t because, then, nothing will ever transform.

Fake it until you make it

positive quote
Yesterday from LinkedIn.

Fake it until you make it.

Belief is a powerful force.

In fact, if there is something you think you can’t do, you can verify it’s true (with yourself – you’re already convinced) because you haven’t done it.

Insider tip: Whatever your impossible is, know it will never turn out like you think. When you finally do the thing you thought you couldn’t, it either turns out better or worse.

i know friends, family, and colleagues who refuse to try because they are not willing to take the risk on better or worse.

There is rarely a warning strong enough to avoid the wakeup call

Car crash debris
Guaranteed the two vehicles involved in this crash had no earthly idea it was about to happen.

There is rarely a warning strong enough to avoid the wake-up call.

Live like you mean it.

Life is not a dress rehearsal.

Seven years later we reach the starting line

important business questions
Yesterday’s questions become today’s motivation. Photo: iPhone pic from a Seth Godin online class.

Life has a funny way of providing what we need, if we stay with it and ebb and flow like nature.

It is often called wisdom.

Seven years later we reach the starting line.

April Fools Day is almost here.

  • 100% certain i will continue to devote a minimum two hours a day to writing
  • 93% (a made up number) sure writing will focus on a book(s)

Perhaps the 100-day blog surplus, which evolved over several years, was divinely created to offer the opportunity that (probably) commences in 20 days.

__________

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.
