It’s been awhile since i was nervous

Example of intentionality
Example of intentionality last night using a PBJ sandwich.

It’s been awhile since i was nervous.

Being the CEO comes with concerns about things most others leaders can dismiss.

The bottomline?

The CEO is the bottomline.

Practice what you preach.

More specifically, and with much greater difficulty, only preach what you practice.

There is no place for theory as CEO.

Your job is to lead everything and everyone to astonishing results.

Everyone can easily blame you for anything less than extraordinary.

And when extraordinary is achieved, no one cares if you are the CEO.

i love this opportunity to embrace a unique struggle few understand because for most, it’s only theory.

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

What would it be like to build a startup from nothing?

Last night was the first book club featuring Mid Life Celebration: rethink • reprioritize • recommit.

Hosted by Monica Flanagin Decker in her Valparaiso, Indiana home.

As Monica posted a Facebook update, her friend in South Carolina asked what all the buzz was about.

Then and there Monica convinced her friend to start a book club too, and feature Mid Life Celebration as their first book.

Reminds me of Steve Jobs’ garage, and Walt Disney’s uncle’s garage

Walt Disney quote on sign at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park
Hire for attitude, not aptitude

Something special is happening in Indiana. Reminds me of Steve Jobs’ garage, and Walt Disney’s uncle’s garage and their used camera in 1923.

Seriously.

All those inspirational sayings that turn us on?

All those stories about the crazy ones, the misfits, the ones who challenged things…

You know the ones.

Ever since eighth grade he wanted to help people lead healthier, more balanced, and joyful lives.

Some advocates have stepped up to help him.

Two of them are in Indiana.

He didn’t ask.

And they didn’t care if he said no thanks. They were prepared to move forward irregardless.

And this Friday, February 28, 2014, in Valparaiso, Indiana – it will be one of those stories told in the future about “the early days” of the Movement.

It’s gettin’ real.

And it may not work, because we aren’t even sure we know what to expect.

But one thing we know for sure.

Those inspirational sayings are no longer sayings, they are our battle cries.

We will launch, learn, revise.

And then launch again.

To the ones crazy enough, and bold enough to go first…

Break a leg Monica and Donna.

Life is not a dress rehearsal.

Live like you mean it!

PS. Whatever you need. Whenever you need it.

These are the toughest economic times we’ll ever see

intuition
you know which way true north is...follow your gut

Note to self: As challenging as it is to keep up with a growing son, a growing business, and an ever-increasing travel schedule, you have done an admirable job in managing the keeping-up part and the getting-ahead part. Cut yourself some slack.

PS. And remember to judge no one. Not everyone was born with your level of intuition. And you were not born with the intellect of many others. God sort of balances the species out.
