Dogma, mind

three flags
USA, Montana, Canada.

What is dogma’s greatest benefit to humanity?

Dogma, to me, is unbreakable tradition.

Traditional is both freedom and a prison.

Let me try to share a weird mental, growth-mindset, perspective on dogma.

Recently, a next-door neighbor, from Brazil, moved in.

Some context: People from all over the world live in our 30-lot subdivision.

This got me thinking (again) about should i learn Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Hindi, Hebrew… Should i explore some Columbian, Brazilian, Japanese, Indian, Israeli music?

And here was my epiphany…as an American living in America, in an American subdivision, if i try to learn some language and some music from all these other places, that would put a heavy load on my learning.

What seems to make the most sense, is instead of one person (me, or anyone) trying to learn multiple other country’s languages and music, perhaps 10 other people could learn the language and music with America’s fingerprint on it.

Weird, right?

Wonder if any other neighbors have thought about this?

Rules, mind

over-focus quote by Jeff Noel
Rule #1: Disney has the same five pillars every company has: leaders, employees, customers, reputation, improvement. We do what the poster says, that’s rule #1.

Why are rules important?

This may be the dumbest question a sane human being can ask.

The better question…

What would the earth be like without rules?

Without…

Scientific rules.

Societal rules.

Global humanity rules.

Expectations, mind

Fear quote
From our Home TV many years ago. My expectation is to die with no regrets.

Why are expectations important to share with the people you care about?

Why?

Love, for starters.

Secondly, peace of mind.

Thirdly, sanity.

Expectations are life-context.

Context is king.

Without context (expectation’s clarity) any important, emotional conversation is poisoned.

Poison, lack of context, can be deadly.

Unemployed, mind

Walt Disney Legacy card
Working hard is the DNA of the company Walt built. Now in 2026, i’m using that Disney DNA to be carefree in my unemployment.

What does it feel like to be unemployed?

For starters, context…

Unemployed means retired.

It feels great to be ‘unemployed’.

Yee-ha!

Carefree, mind

Disney executive speakers
To say i have a treasure trove of Disney insight, history, and insider knowledge is such an understatement. Erin Wallace replaced Lee Cockerell as Executive VP, when Lee retired on July 28, 2006. Erin’s soundbite for the Disney Leader Basics was Know, Manage, Teach. Teaching The Disney Way is how i’ve made a living since 1999. Starting 2026, no more ‘making a living’.

When in your final life-season, did you believe you were living a carefree life?

Wow!

Now there’s a personal question.

My first thought, “i can’t remember.”

Second thought, “It’s now my burning desire to chase it.”

Blessed beyond measure to make it to 67, be married for 43 years, have a 20-something son, no bills, recently retired, fixed-income, decent rainy-day fund.
