Breaking out the iPads for college road trip

Speaker setup
Two days ago at a local hospital executive TEDx Talk presentation. Wanted to post this photo yesterday but couldn’t.

Breaking out the iPads for college road trip.

Yesterday we had to move everything downstairs because we will be unable to use the stairs until we return.

We’ll shower outside this morning and tomorrow morning too, before ordering a Lyft.

But the big news is in Private mode i am able (today) to post current photos without the JSON error.

Yee-haw!

A.R.E.

thank you note
A neighbor drew this image of our new home in 1992. She then made a box of note cards out of it. Used one yesterday.

A.R.E.

The free, inexhaustible fuel.

  • Appreciation.
  • Recognition.
  • Encouragement.

While the four remodeling crew workers (including the owner) greatly appreciated the generous cash gift they individually received, they came back inside the house to thank me for the sentiments i wrote on each of their cards.

A few specific, sincere, and timely sentiments on each card.

It touched them.

And surprisingly, because i didn’t expect them to do what they did, that touched me.

In the giving we receive. Crazy, i know.

The joy of an ordinary day, October 26, 2018

Neighborhood near Magic Kingdom
She walked with her arms outstretched, while i walked to the gym somewhere near 7:30AM yesterday.

Sand Hill Crane injured
Walked a different way home from the gym, yesterday somewhere near 8:30AM.

Disney speaker jeff noel
Somewhere near 1:30PM yesterday.

regret
Somewhere near 4pm yesterday at the grocery store check out, picking up apples, oranges, and berries.

Yesterday was remarkable in multiple seemingly insignificant ways.

First, the woman walking with arms outstretched – was she filled with joy or filled with sorrow?

The Sand Hill Crane, missing a foot, how did it happen, how long ago did it happen, and is it feeling grateful to be alive?

The Chinese physician was grateful for the opportunity to visit Magic Kingdom for 90 minutes yesterday after lunch.

On the drive home from High School, while purchasing fruit, the word regret jumped out at me.

Everything i do is designed, in large part, to eliminate regret.

Be nice, it’s easy

Disney Institute Speakers
One word summary: Intentionality. Be intentional with your life. Because if you’re not, well, you’re not.

On the way home from Kentucky yesterday, saw this on a tee-shirt:

Be nice, it’s easy.

Didn’t see the shirt’s back, but had to  smile and think a perfect back-saying would be:

Especially if you have a great attitude.

Notice and invent simply by writing every morning

Disney's Tree of Life
Disney’s Tree of Life

Disney's Tree of Life
Two days ago…neither of us recalled the Owl being so big.

Caution, borderline self-indulgent post. But i needed to hear myself say this today.

Knowing that i am compelled to say something tomorrow about what i learned yesterday, what i get to do today, and what i hope for tomorrow, i notice things in glorious, simple ways i would never tap into if i didn’t write every day.

And what i learned, get to do, and hope for might help someone else on their journey to live like they mean it.

Every.

Day.

Five differently-themed blogs.

On five different websites.

Since April Fools Day, 2009.

Yeah, seven and a half years, five-a-day, never missing a day.

Ever.

Impossible.

(note: 65 days from 8 consecutive years…insane)

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.
