Free at last

Disney Speaker jeff noel at Orlando Ritz Carlton
Less than 24 hours ago at our local Ritz Carlton.

We saw an ocean of well-deserved accolades for MLK yesterday, on every social media channel.

You have a recurring dream, right?

i too have a recurring dream – that we achieve a manageable life pace where lessons, virtues, and ideals inspire us daily, not just when prompted by the calendar.

Free at last.

Not talking about MLK right now, i’m referring to yesterday’s choice to not use slides for the first time ever.

A 20-year speaking habit of always using slides came to an end. Learned to always use slides from the best, Disney Institute. And followed my deeply-engrained habit the first five years out on my own.

But it’s a new year.

Breakthroughs do not happen in our comfort zone. Tweet this.

Taking risks is like oxygen

Disney jeff noel customer service points
Four world-class customer service insights (the basics) and two bonus insights.

Taking risks is like oxygen. You can’t imagine not breathing oxygen.

So, you’re the same with risk? You can’t imagine not taking risks?

May your answer inspire you.

i’m going to do something today that i’ve never done before.

In exchange, i’m asking you to do the same.

What?

i’ve never spoken without slides, it’s a Disney thing.

Why?

i believe slides can potentially limit a speaker.

And i believe this speech is going to be the best Customer service keynote i’ve ever given.

i’m confident, excited, and inspired.

Now you.

In exchange, i’m asking you to do something you’ve (probably) never done before.

i’m asking you to commit to listening and participating as if my content is the most significant customer service message you will ever receive.

It may not work

Disney Institute Keynote Speaker
Incredible news.

We just received word that he’s been accepted to his first college of choice.

He only submitted a college application to one school.

No second choice.

No backup.

Bold.

Committed.

All in.

They say the acorn doesn’t fall far from the tree.

It’s a bit like leaving Disney and Disney Institute after 30+ years to start your own entrepreneurial business.

Leaving the Company you love for your only desirable option to do what you love with significantly less travel.

The catch?

Odds of succeeding are dishearteningly low for anyone starting a small business.

Ps. It may not work.

Fail your way to this place?

Keith Richards Rolling Stone cover
Lead guitarist for The Rolling Stones. From Saturday’s library tour, this magazine cover caught my eye. Why? Is Keith still a drug addict?

Fail your way to this place?

Failure?

No, don’t fail your way to failure.

Success?

Yes.

Fail your way to success.

Taking risks is risky, so is playing it safe.
