15-second video: Yesterday. Friday. Quittin’ time for most people. Still thinking, past quittin’ time. Thinking is my highest priority work task. The “Severance question” has to do with an analogy from a recent client conversation.

The pinnacle work effort is when your effort never feels like work.

The top photo is an illustration of what can happen when you love doing something that doesn’t feel like work.

i wrote five daily, differently-themed blog posts for five years while i worked and traveled the globe full-time at Disney Institute.

Every time i thought about starting a morning by skipping writing due to a demanding schedule, one thought always convinced me to not skip a day.

The thought?

This is what i’d be doing if i wasn’t doing this

Can’t imagine there ever being a morning where i don’t feel like reflecting on what i learned yesterday, what i get to do today, and what i hope for tomorrow.

i knew when i was at the pinnacle of my Disney and Disney Institute career…i’d need/want to start every morning expressing my gratitude for another day by thinking and writing about it.

Will i do it until the morning i don’t wake up for?

Seems like a safe bet.

Once Upon A Toy Store
Couple days ago, heading to lunch.

Once upon a time there was short and pithy; five daily, differently-themed blog posts that were short in length, yet dense with diversity, insight, wisdom, and challenge. Like life, events happen that throw us a curve. It’s no different here.

“Profanity is the effort of a feeble mind to express itself forcefully”.  —  Unknown

Sorry if this makes you mad as heck.

I used to “swear like a sailor”.

Now, not so much.

Self-control isn’t an idea to dream about at Mid Life, it’s a habit we can, and should, cultivate at Midlife.

It’s entirely up to each one of us, isn’t it.

At least that’s what the %$#k^ I think.
