Mixed midlife emotions can be amazing or a train wreck

Life's Big Choices
life’s four big choices, plus a fifth, the large box which houses the others

Mixed midlife emotions can be amazing or a train wreck. I hope for you it’s amazing.

What’s mixed for me, in case you’re wondering, is being Thanksgiving-Day thankful combined with pushing groundbreaking boundaries.

Dear Son, it’s Thanksgiving Day 2012, in real time (as this is written privately), and there’s only 28 days (also in real time as we read this publicly now) until you and I reach year four of what was only supposed to last 100 days. I love you.

This month jeff noel is challenging Mid Life Celebration readers to follow all five daily blogs about work life balance. To navigate instantly from this mental attitude blog to his physical health blog, click -> go to Next Blog

Do we catch the “firsts” in our life?

colon cancer
One of them is 20 times more likely to develop colon cancer than the general population

Do we catch the “firsts” in our life? The things that happen we never thought would?

The first Crohn’s commercial on TV? Yesterday it happened. Saw the very first TV commercial for a medication for Crohn’s disease, an incurable Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD).

Mid Life Celebration was founded with one purpose, to help raise money to find a cure. Potentially the very first “for-profit, non-profit”.

Just Get Started, And Learn As You Go

When you feel like giving up, maybe this story will help you not to.

Mid Life Celebration LLC started out so small and insignificant in 2008, with a grand total of 20 posts:

  • 2 Blog posts in November
  • 18 Blog posts in December

Then, with New Year’s Resolution in hand, and firmly committed to do better, 2009 started off like this:

  • 3 Posts in January
  • 10 Posts in February

But something amazing happened in March and on April Fool’s Day (2009), I never looked back.

Never give up, never give in. Find your indomitable will, your purpose in life.

Major Mid Life April Fool?

MIND, BODY, SPIRIT, MONEY
MIND, BODY, SPIRIT, MONEY

Mid Life Celebration has now been writing five daily blogs for one year.

This is not an April Fool’s joke (although the timing is perfect).

I remember how it all started.  March 2009.  Our 2nd-grade son was questioning why he had to read aloud 20 minutes every day.

“If you want to be a good reader, you need to read a lot”, I said.

Then I continued, “You know I’m training for the World Championships, right?  If I want to be a good runner, I need to run a lot.”

Then, the flash of light!

“If you want to be a good writer, you should write a lot.”

What started as a simple 100-day challenge to write daily, in the five blogs, has turned into a heretical marketing and brand value proposition.
