Happy Independence day

Windermere Prep High school
Arrived early yesterday for High School Senior walkout day.

Good, balanced choices offer stability and advantage.

Stability is gained by spending less time recovering from bad choices. This allows more time to make good choices and gain momentum and confidence.

You can capitalize on good choices as you can capitalize on good financial investments.

Good choices contain the magic of compound interest. The cumulative effect from small and consistent good choices pays huge dividends long-term.

Live for today, plan for tomorrow.

How to dream

Dream like nothing’s impossible.

Why?

It’s contagious.

Also contagious is not dreaming big dreams.

Sometimes what helps us most is the thing we discount in importance.

It’s like this: An object in motion tends to stay in motion and an object at rest tends to stay at rest.

Doing the right thing is not emphasized

Disney Speaker jeff noel home office
Photo taken yesterday before heading to Baltimore.

Doing the right thing is not emphasized in the media, nor in our human circles, and not in our habits.

Why?

Because people have discovered that it takes too long to develop better habits and that the payoff is not quick enough for our weak human condition.

So we cave to conformity and the status quo.

Our spirit is willing but our body is weak.

Hey, if everyone is doing it…

Insidiously deadly.

Personal vibrancy never stands a chance.

Unless, or until…

Focus and discipline are the only tools to conquer mediocre habits and rituals.

Denying (or ignoring) this doesn’t make it untrue.

You are what you read

spare change Orlando
As we walked through Orlando yesterday morning.
don't give spare change initiative
The thought process to create this idea and implement it is extraordinary. The creators are, in my opinion, applying economic sanctions in a last ditch effort to change behavior. People follow the money. Lead them to designated places where assistance can be concentrated and delivered.

You are what you read, and, what you watch and listen to.

Similar to “you are what you eat”, garbage in, garbage out.

Similar to karma, you attract what you put out, “your thoughts are directed by your mental consumption” – what you consume visually and audibly hardwires your thoughts, also known as your attitude.

How many days does it take to start a new habit?

How many days does it take to start a new habit?

Depends on who you listen to, and generally, 21 days is used as a decent estimate. Three weeks.

So after three years, what can you expect?

Transformation?

How can you not?

Well, here we are, January 20.
