Favorite favorites, mind

Favorite favorites?

The idea to think about and curate my lifetime favorites popped into my head yesterday.

Just from thinking random thoughts in the present moments.

Why?

Probably to leave behind only the most special, memorable, or remarkable things that seem valuable to me and hopefully will be valuable to our son and wife.

Kinda similar to the way we want to pass on certain possessions that we value. Keepsakes. Heirlooms. Mementos.

Most agree that ‘stuff’ has a shelf life and that one person’s treasure may not be treasure to another.

Today’s posts are me putting pen to paper and capturing this idea.

The invisible DNA of this thought-thread from yesterday…

As we prepare to die, and we think about all the things we have and how much will be useless to whomever we think we’re going to leave it to.

It was hard wasn’t it?

How can you pick one single solitary song, when there are ten’s of thousands, if not hundred’s of thousands of songs to pick from?

So, after re-reading the list from yesterday’s blog post, it just hit me this morning.

Cat’s In The Cradle“, by Harry Chapin is my all-time favorite song.

Our son will turn out just like me. This song reminds me everyday to be careful what I say and do.

What about you?
