Willing to stand alone?

We think, we move, we feel, we earn, and we dwell.

  1. Mind – think
  2. Body – move
  3. Spirit – feel
  4. Money – earn
  5. HQ – dwell

Balance.

Here at Midlife Celebration we talk about our thoughts, you know, our attitude. The degree to which we rise or fall here will have a direct and proportional ripple effect through the four others.

What are we willing to commit to, bleed for, stand alone for, make a ruckus about, and generally be unreasonable about?

Because that’s what’s going to fuel our purpose and ensure we are an example instead of a warning in life.

What we signed up for wasn’t what we signed up for

Think
Think for decades, then spend time rethinking

It all comes down to our attitude.

Doesn’t it?

We get what we sign up for.

Roughly 40-50 working years.

What we didn’t realize when we were younger was that what we signed up for wasn’t what we signed up for.

Mid Life Celebration ruptures the notion that balance and thriving are myths.

A recent Seth Godin post revealed he writes three or more posts to get one for publishing. He discards the others.

If you follow Seth (and he comes with the highest recommendation, because he’s brilliant) you know how extraordinarily different he thinks (and writes, and speaks).

And yet in his message – usually uniquely positioned in a way we’ve never thought of – we find ourselves going, “That makes sense”.

The challenge with balance, is that we do not have the luxury of spending three or more days to get one day of great balance.

This, too, makes sense.

We’ve been misled to believe balance is two – work life and home life. Two is a nice low number, but inadequate in addressing the larger whole.

There are actually five components to balance.

How did we go through life and not know?

mind • body • spirit • money • hq

Now we know.

And we know that knowing is not enough.
