Over-focused travel, mind

In flight to Atlanta now and wondering if i’ll have to go outside in the next four days.

Intentionally booked a mid-morning flight. This allows me to wake up like normal, with decent odds of eight hours sleep.

A 7am flight requires an extra-early wake up. This removes an 8-hour sleep off the table.

Intentionally booked a two+ hour layover. Why? This allows a buffer for flight delay challenges.

Mental progress

Amy and Alonzo from Disney University asked if i saw what was unusual about this photo. Have seen this photo hundreds of times and never noticed anything unusual. But as i kept looking, i spotted the second Mickey Mouse from the bottom right. Freaked me out for a few seconds.

The longer you shed something, the harder it gets to continue shedding.

Why?

Because the easy-to-shed stuff has been gone for a long time. Plus, with each cycle of shedding, the things you kept are kept because they appear at that moment to be valuable.

So it’s a phenomenon of having fewer things with each perceived to contain high value to you.

Value categories include: memories, future use, future gift, future sale, guilt, etc.

Making reinvigorated mental progress in shedding old, outdated and inefficient ideas and beliefs.

Feels amazing.

Final 24 hours in Australia, mind

Sunrise hasn’t begun yet, but surfing has.
48-second video: After three weeks, it’s tempting to see this as ordinary. Why? Because we never have to work for the vantage point. Pre-sunrise activity is bustling.
36-second video: Typical low-level cloud horizon.
27-second video: Once the Sun scales the clouds, the light is blinding.

Reflecting on the past three weeks and the next 24 hours, this is a dominating mental thought….
