Carefree, mind

Disney executive speakers
To say i have a treasure trove of Disney insight, history, and insider knowledge is such an understatement. Erin Wallace replaced Lee Cockerell as Executive VP, when Lee retired on July 28, 2006. Erin’s soundbite for the Disney Leader Basics was Know, Manage, Teach. Teaching The Disney Way is how i’ve made a living since 1999. Starting 2026, no more ‘making a living’.

When in your final life-season, did you believe you were living a carefree life?

Wow!

Now there’s a personal question.

My first thought, “i can’t remember.”

Second thought, “It’s now my burning desire to chase it.”

Blessed beyond measure to make it to 67, be married for 43 years, have a 20-something son, no bills, recently retired, fixed-income, decent rainy-day fund.

Grace, mind

upside down car from accident
Upside down car from 2024 accident on Montana’s Highway 2 between West Glacier and Essex. Grace is the Mom and child (or a potential second vehicle that) did not suffer injury or death. Had just flown all day to Glacier and driving to Swiftcurrent before dark.

What is Grace?

Unearned, undeserved goodness.

And then there’s the grace we can bestow on others (and ourselves).

For example, Grace is knowing how many things don’t need my commentary.

With others.

With myself.

Ps. jeff, you’re welcome, and good luck.

Smiling Jesus, mind

This made my week.

What makes Jesus smile?

Gotta say, this is beyond my understanding.

But if pressed to share some ideas…

Love…

Glacier checklists day 2, mind

Glacier National Park
Glacier National Park West entrance and Red Bus.

Glacier Park Mountain Goat family on Mt Oberlin trail, August 2018.

Glacier checklists, day two.

Two types:

  1. Organized and written down.
  2. Some intuitive, only in my head.

Searched my Apple Notes App for previous Glacier first-timer communications.

All my notes are relatively unhelpful. They were composed to offer help to friends in deciding whether or not to visit.

What i need to ‘recompose’ is what to expect once you have your plane ticket and hotel reservation.

The one ‘keeper’ list item that i copied and pasting here:

Expectations: Have fun. Stay safe. Mind-blowing hiking.

Glacier checklists, mind

Glacier National Park - The Crown of the Continent
Glacier National Park – The Crown of our Continent.

Glacier checklists.

Have a bunch.

Some organized and written down.

Some intuitive and only in my head.

i’d like to sort them out and document them.

Why?

To easily share them, if needed or wanted.

The catalyst for “why now” after all these years?

Later this month we head to Glacier for (only) a month.

And…

The third week we’re there, friends and first-time Glacier visitors will be joining us for eight nights.
