The privilege of having the High School graduation here is not lost on me.

There’s a time and a place for everything.

Last night the time and place was 7:00 PM, at the Walt Disney Theater inside the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center in downtown Orlando.

Congratulations WPS class of 2019.

When you are literally the only one for the entire day

WPS — Teachers have a work day with no students.

WPS — Waiting for my next appointment with our Son’s English teacher.

Six parent-teacher conference meetings yesterday, a Friday.

None of the teachers had more than two parents request the opportunity. For several teachers, i was their only appointment.

i know if i was still at Disney and traveling like i used to, i’d have missed the opportunity as well.

All students had off to accommodate teacher accessibility by interested or concerned parents.

By the way, i was only interested, not concerned. It’s taken a year and a half to move from being concerned to being interestingly hopeful. Slow and steady wins the transformational race.

Q. Why did you create Mid Life Celebration?

A. Because the world needs a wake up call.

The video made my eyes water, as a 55 year old dad of a 14-year old, i find myself asking a powerful question that no one offers a convincing answer to.

Will miss tonight’s performance, but didn’t miss yesterday’s final practice session.

Insight: Unknowingly, to be the only parent at the final rehearsal was inspiring to the students.

This year’s class (photo above) is 60% smaller than last year’s.

The photo is day two of the 2013-14 school year.

The book I promised to write 34 years ago for my children is much closer to reality.
