His colleagues from the past 30 years had a couple recurring themes in their stories and memories:

Last night was the final, official moment as a Disney Cast Member.

It kills him to leave. He IS Disney. He’s not running from something. He’s running to something, and has been for the past six years.

The other theme, shared over and over last night with his wife? Because of his intentionality he’s going to be incredible successful.

After 30 years, there are still “firsts” to be claimed.

Three firsts on the first day of retirement.

Even found time to show a 14-year old the Napa room where his Dad’s retirement party will be in a few weeks.

The paradox of finishing.

Today, Halloween 2014, is the final day as a full-time Walt Disney World Cast Member and Leader.

What looks like the finish line is actually not the end at all.

At. All.

It is the beginning.

A gutsy move to serve more, as if that’s even possible.

And it is.

PS. Intentionally picked Halloween because leaving something that’s in your DNA and that you love to do is really scary.

Official launch is one week and a day away.

Which makes us curious.

Eights days until retirement and kicking back?

Or until go time? Full steam ahead? Put a dent in the Universe?

In the past few days, people are starting to quietly share how gutsy they think this is.

To you, the one reading this, never let your memories be bigger than your dreams.

And don’t quit your day job while you lay your foundation.

Last night Mid Life Celebration went public with jeff noel’s retirement date which is only 12 days away on November 1, 2014.

Final day as a full-time Disney Leader is October 31 – Halloween.

How scary is that!

Insight: Could have picked any day. Intentionally picked Halloween as the last one. Because it is very scary to leave at 55.

And it’s part of the story.
