Having or not having consistency equals what?

Breathe magazine
Yesterday at the Publix (grocery) checkout aisle. What if we subscribed to the lifetime of happiness special?

Mental habits and rituals.

They make or break us.

Having consistently positive energy, thoughts, and outlooks is essential to a lifetime of seeing the good side – the opportunity – in every situation.

Not having consistent energy, thoughts, and outlooks is like being given a prison sentence – with hard, unwanted labor – in every situation.

Habits.

Rituals.

You own these.

You can enhance them and excel at them.

And if you choose not to, you will live in a hell you don’t deserve.

What happens if our habits change?

Home office
Change is not easy for most. Like walking away from the 6th most admired company in the world to start your own thing (entrepreneurship has statistically high odds of failing). Converted a spare bedroom into a Disney Keynote Speaker office (above).

Hold on, here comes an important question…

What happens if our habits change?

What?

Yeah, didn’t see that one coming.

Are you satisfied with your quality of life right now?

Habits are what we think and do without thinking.

The basics…

Great habits serve us and others.

Poor habits, obviously, have the opposite effect and serve no one.

Want to maintain and accentuate your current energy and outcomes in your life?

Want different energy and outcomes in your life?

It’s simple.

All we have to do to generate better results is to change our habits.

No brainer right?

The problem is not the real problem

Quotes
Eight years ago.

The problem is not the real problem.

The problem isn’t having new ideas.

Humans are born to build their lives on new ideas.

It’s in our DNA.

Ideas build our foundation as we enter adulthood and carve out a life independent from our parents.

The challenge is terminating old ideas which were once new but are now old.

And because they’re old, let’s assume we’ve been incorporating these ideas into our daily lives long enough to have created the deeply embedded habits we call daily life.

Constant 72-hour challenges?

medical appoint reminder card
After 34 years, a dramatic change. Snapped the photo above yesterday as a reminder.

What would life be like if we constantly pushed ourselves to improve?

Scary?

Glorious?

You know that saying?

“Do one thing every day that scares you.”

Because i don’t doesn’t mean i don’t want to

excuses, regrets, opportunities
Excuses, regrets, opportunities…used Siri to text me the above thought while biking yesterday,

Because i don’t doesn’t mean i don’t want to…

Just because i’m always positive doesn’t mean i’m not tempted to be negative.

Just because i exercise regularly doesn’t mean i wouldn’t rather relax at home.

Just because i rarely eat sugar doesn’t mean i don’t want to eat chocolate all day, every day.

Just because i go to bed early and awaken early doesn’t mean i don’t want to stay up late or sleep in.

Just because i consistently go to Church doesn’t mean i’d rather use Sunday mornings for something else.

Just because i do not get angry doesn’t mean i don’t want to get angry.

Just because i work so hard to be amazing in my profession doesn’t mean i’d rather spend less time studying, networking, writing, and chasing impossible goals.

Just because i’m decently organized, doesn’t mean there are many days where it is so hard to make decisions on what to keep, what to donate, and what to recycle.

Just because i love technology doesn’t mean i love all the time it takes to keep up with it.

Years ago, i purchased the domain name www.ExcuseWhisperer.com

Wishing everyone the best today.
