To ship or not to ship

Florida caladiums in Spring
Our caladiums began popping through the surface a couple weeks ago. For us, this is the official Spring announcement.

To ship or not to ship.

What does this mean?

Shipping means committing to hitting publish – you go public with your art.

What’s your art?

Good question.

In a perfect world, you are keenly aware of your art.

Keenly.

Aware.

It could be that you are living like you mean it, versus living in fear, doubt, regret, worry.

Your art is what makes you come alive.

Coming alive is what slays our fear of death.

PS. Death isn’t our fear, not coming alive before we die is our fear.

PSS. Happy first day of Spring.

The big three dream-stoppers

Glacier National Park
Looking Northeast toward Glacier National Park.

What stops us from doing something big we’ve never done before?

Depends on how big, how motivated we are, and our threshold for the big three dream-stoppers:

risk  •  fear  •  doubt

The big three form a cloud over our head called excuses.

Constant 72-hour challenges?

medical appoint reminder card
After 34 years, a dramatic change. Snapped the photo above yesterday as a reminder.

What would life be like if we constantly pushed ourselves to improve?

Scary?

Glorious?

You know that saying?

“Do one thing every day that scares you.”

Are humans genetically wired to help others?

Disney Institute Keynote Speakers
Today’s photos are from years ago. This one is a Disney Institute classroom table.

Are humans genetically wired to help others?

Yes.

Now…

Imagine being 17 in today’s world versus the decade you were 17.

Can you imagine over-exposure to bullying, human massacres in schools, nuclear threats, fake news, deep division, name-calling, and blaming?

Are humans genetically wired to help others?

Easy to imagine teens being troubled.

So add one more thing to your to-do list.

Be a bright light in a dark world.

We all mess up

Disney Keynote speaker jeff noel
Heading to Glacier National Park (2017) for a week with only two bags.

We all mess up.

It’s not a matter of will we mess up.

It’s a matter of when, and, how often.

Inflating your worth isn’t necessarily messing up.

Unless.

Unless your claims and your reality are diametrically opposed.

This author intrigues me because of the marketing hype. And for context, marketing hype is not an evil thing – it can be, but my focus is not on that right now.

In 30 days – when this goes live – i hope to have explored his thinking.

i also hope to have completed all the 2018 Glacier National Park travel arrangements.
