Later, right?

Michelangelo Quote
How long until we set ourselves free?

Is it possible to feel more alive than right now?

Oh, wait, not now.

Now is not a good time.

Busy. Very busy today.

Too much stuff to do.

So maybe later, right?

Then, you know, later – then we can feel so incredibly alive.

Right?

Everyone already knows this and it doesn’t excite us

Florida Mockingbird on rooftop
Neighborhood meeting concluded and having another meeting to attend to. – pause and do the impossible…

Florida Mockingbird on rooftop
Ever talk to a Mockingbird? Not if we’re too busy, too distracted, too medicated.

Who is in love with exploring what’s impossible?

Everyone already knows what’s possible.

It’s the stuff that lies past what’s possible that the explorer in us yearns to get a glimpse of.

For instance, is it (im)possible to enjoy the simplest of pleasures – like the daily sunrise and sunset – in our busy, distracted, medicated, and entertained world?

Should we launch our lives in the direction of our wildest dreams?

jeff noel quote
Two out of three (quotes) ain’t bad (one is not original). Who cares, right?

There are amazingly inspiring people throughout history, but something is missing, even in a wonderfully captivating quote like this:

The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity. –Amelia Earhart

What’s missing?

Action.

Quotes from famous people are like a shot of whiskey.

Something gutsy and raw in the consuming.

The wonderful afterglow is pretty amazing.

The letdown from not being able to maintain and sustain that wonderful feeling is why we keep consuming quotes, yet few of us ever launch our lives in the direction of our wildest dreams.

Things begin to change when we begin to change.

Common sense, but not common. (quotable?)

Our attitude will decide which one we pick

Maybe someday there will be one near Disney University

Life is hard no matter if we bust our butts to succeed or if we surrender and take the slothful path.

Essentially it comes down to two choices:

  1. Victim
  2. Victor

Our attitude will decide which one we pick.

No?

The older we get, the more authenticity appeals to us and feels uncompromisingly important

Store front window inspirational message
Not fun to admit, but it is true – it’s called commitment (for a lifetime)

Lower left... shouting our name
Random encounter during a run yesterday

The older we get, the more authenticity appeals to us and feels uncompromisingly important.

And yet.

None of us will change if we aren’t ready. Or willing.

(we can be ready, but unwilling)

The only possible way this will work is if we discard the old rules.

Conformity. Compliance. Toleration. Yearning. Stalling.
