Anyone planning for mental readjustments in 2018?

Disney Leadership Keynote Speaker
Palm trees and sunshine fuel some people’s karma.

Time marches on.

As 2017 is in its final week, many of us are thinking about adjustments we’d like to make in our lives in 2018.

Wrote 28k words last week according to Grammarly

Behind the scenes, work is quietly and steadily being done.

Writing changes people.

Only people who write daily understand this.

Wish i could impart the wisdom to everyone who isn’t prepared to do the work.

What a fantasy, right?

Start writing a little bit every day.

If you really want to live on the edge, publish every day.

Show the world what you believe in.

And be prepared for no one to care.

Be prepared for deafening silence.

And keep writing anyway.

It will either turn out worse than you expected or much better than you expected.

Sorry, but i’m not able to predict your results.

3 basic tools for growth and positive change

Nursing home info board
Upper left, November 5th (yesterday). Be intentional about preparing for your death. Ask and answer life’s important questions with a determined sense of urgency. Some questions take decades to answer. Fear is a poor excuse to postpone your efforts (and obligation).

Three basic tools for growth and positive change:

  1. Paradox
  2. Questions
  3. Common Sense

With yourself and others, argue like you’re right and listen like you’re wrong.

And be convinced about where you stand.

No one else can do this for you.

Please remember, your clock is always ticking.

No amount of rationalization makes it ok to leave this as a burden for someone else, especially when you don’t discuss it with them.

Simplicity gets lost on us because of familiarity

Slow and steady wins the race.

If it’s to be, it’s up to me.

Not sure who said it, but it fits.

Bonus:

Slow and steady wins the race.

Simple.

Familiar.

Forgotten.

Your move.

Age and grown up aren’t automatically synced

Departing flights board
Yesterday in San Antonio. The top, flight 1062, departure time is late enough at 8am to allow me to sleep in until 430am.

Your mind is so powerful.

Don’t like something about your life but you are powerless to change it?

Change your mind about your attitude towards it.

Simple.

Simple doesn’t mean easy, but it does mean simple.

Generally, the people who would benefit the most from reading a blog post like this have long ago abandoned reading here.

Why?

Few people want to be reminded (daily) that they have uncomfortable choices to make.

The hope here – the hope which i have spent my life growing – is that you fully accept your responsibility in life as CEO of You, Inc.

Anything less means you haven’t grown up.
