The more things change,

Yesterday.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

The only constant is change.

Notice and invent simply by writing every morning

Disney's Tree of Life
Disney’s Tree of Life

Disney's Tree of Life
Two days ago…neither of us recalled the Owl being so big.

Caution, borderline self-indulgent post. But i needed to hear myself say this today.

Knowing that i am compelled to say something tomorrow about what i learned yesterday, what i get to do today, and what i hope for tomorrow, i notice things in glorious, simple ways i would never tap into if i didn’t write every day.

And what i learned, get to do, and hope for might help someone else on their journey to live like they mean it.

Every.

Day.

Five differently-themed blogs.

On five different websites.

Since April Fools Day, 2009.

Yeah, seven and a half years, five-a-day, never missing a day.

Ever.

Impossible.

(note: 65 days from 8 consecutive years…insane)

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

You won’t know until you try

Lifebridge Church Windermere
Yesterday’s 9 am service…8:55 am…nearly empty Church.

Lifebridge Church Windermere
Interesting how consistent late arrivals are across denominations.

You won’t know until you try.

If there was a Catholic Church near us, it would be a no-brainer to switch from our current Parish. Of course it would be difficult. Such is life.

Teaching a 16-year old you’ll never know if you don’t try.

We teach best done through our example.

Since there isn’t a Catholic Church close to our home, we are exploring the two Churches nearest to our home – one 100 meters away, the other is two miles away.

Zip it or change the world

Hurricane Matthew radar view
Blind spots are this easy to see for others; blatantly obvious as they say.

Zip it or change the world.

i’m so busy overcoming my blind spots i don’t have time to complain about what someone else should fix.

Insight: Rid yourself of criticism. What you dislike and complain about in others is likely the same thing others see in you.

Conversely, what you like and admire in others may be what you project to the world.

Beautiful morning in East Glacier, looking west towards Rising Sun.

The older you become the more challenging it is to do new things. The antidote, it seems to me, is to substitute quality for quantity.

.

Note to self for posterity: 08.03 Wednesday…8am drive to Canada/Waterton Park. Chief Mountain. Prince of Wales Hotel. Lunch in Waterton. Saw a bear at Prince of Wales driveway. Dinner at Two Dog Flats. Drove to Two Dog Flats to look for bear. Saw one at 8pm. Good pics.
