The time to worry is when you don’t have to

Netflix. Like anything that we don’t make a priority, our material things can suffocate our life if we don’t manage it daily.

The time to worry is when you don’t have to.

Take physical health.

Do the basics now, and for the rest of your life.

Or, don’t.

And decades later be forced to change.

Same for everything else in life.

Nurture your attitude or wake up decades from now, fearful, bitter, angry, stressed – to the point of a potentially devastating wake-up call.

The cool thing is letting go

Mid Life Celebration jeff noel
Simple.

The cool thing is letting go.

What others think is none of your business.

A strong argument can be defended with a single point.

Life is not a dress rehearsal.

If there were only six months left to live

solar charger
Yesterday, experimenting with a potential improvement for Glacier National Park. This solar charger would fill the void for the lack of electricity at Granite Park Chalet.

If there were only six months left to live would you continue to make small daily improvements?

Asking you this under the assumption you already have the daily habit of small, daily improvement deeply ingrained. Safe to assume?

It’s so easy to dismiss the daily value of making slightly better choices.

  1. Sticking with the basics is not impressive.
  2. Being in love with boredom is not compelling.
  3. Getting a fraction better isn’t going to be newsworthy.

So let’s say you have decades to live, would you focus on daily incremental improvement? Remember items 1-3?

Before i die i want to ___________

Context from You Tube: In her New Orleans neighborhood, artist and TED Fellow Candy Chang turned an abandoned house into a giant chalkboard asking a fill-in-the-blank question: “Before I die I want to ___.” Her neighbors’ answers — surprising, poignant, funny — became an unexpected mirror for the community. (What’s your answer?)

Fill in the blank…

Before i die i want to ___________.
