Positivity for Sale

Florida swimming pool
Couple nights ago. This is sunset, but if you didn’t know, it could be a sunrise.

Today’s theme is about stuff that’s for sale, stuff that people might buy.

Saw a “Disney Institute” Google alert yesterday entitled “Magic For Sale”…how Disney was selling it’s people management best practices to outsiders back in the mid-2000’s.

Take a person with a super positive attitude. If they could bottle their “secrets”, would you buy them?

My advice?

Grow your own.

We reap what we sow.

Sow good thoughts.

Leverage the power of words and phrases.

Opportunities and challenges, not problems.

“Good morning, God.”

Not, “Good God it’s morning”.

Endings are simply new starting lines

Endings are simply new starting lines.

Cry because the rosebush has thorns or rejoice because the thornbush has roses?

Never get bored with the basics. How we choose to see things is as basic as it gets.

Can a leaf be a flower?

Rethinking things takes practice.

To get good at anything, practice is required.

Same thing for .thinking .differently

Normally, we think of flowers as the part of the plant that has colorful petals.

Caladiums have no flowers during the majority of their seasonal lifecycle. The entire plant – every leaf – is full of color.

Can a leaf be a flower?

PS. Some images of a caladium flower are here.

Is life really this simple?

High School Improv event poster
Yesterday. Life is about handling what comes our way (improv). It’s also about over-managing (intentionality) every detail.

Just another ordinary day today, right?

For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone. – Audrey Hepburn

My version of this is simple too:

Live like you mean it.

The common denominator in those two quotes is intentionality.

When we over manage the things we used to under manage or ignore, our life positively changes in ways we could not see before.

As simple (or difficult) as focusing on good versus focusing on faults.

This changes everything and always has

Orlando's Best Professional Keynote Speakers

(photo: It’s always a treat to talk directly with the CEO.)

It’s embarrassing how simple these posts are.

And it’s humbling to comprehend how astonishingly correct they are too.

The way we think changes everything.

Because the way we think drives what we see.

What we see changes everything.

Negotiating with CEO’s and Meeting Planners to describe what type of Keynote Speaker they should hire at some point leads to a bottomline revelation…

Client: But how is this going to drive our financial growth and shareholder value?

MLC:  You and your team worry about getting your brand on the cover of the Wheaties box (financial). MLC will worry about you winning the Olympic Gold medal (reputation).

At the end of the day, your customers don’t care if you are a money making machine. They only care that you love them. All day. Everyday.
