This Is Just For Me

Drum roll please…

This photo, from Summer 2019, simply shows our progress as we work through six boxes of content.

Drum roll please…

Asked for verbal yes or no by 5:00 PM last night.

It’s a Yee-haw either way.

One way and the year is locked and loaded.

The opposite way is a blank canvas, with a world of possibility.

The next nine days at the beach, plus the week between Christmas and January 1, 2020 will allow for self-reflection on the Glacier Summer of self-reflection.

What are you looking at?

Two friendlies looking at other friendlies.

What are you looking at?

Me?

The good stuff.

The positivity, the goodness, the opportunities.

That’s what i’m looking at.

It’s cool.

i like it.

Never gets old.

Front row event seating rarely has a downside

TEDx AUK 2019
Front row seats are inside to the right.
TEDx AUK speakers
Omar, Melody and i are the first three speakers. Menna (white t-shirt) is a TEDx volunteer and Engineering student.
TEDx AUK speakers
(R-L) Me, Helen (#7), Mike (#6), and Ali (#5).
Omar Khalil TEDx AUK
Omar Khalil, a senior AUK computer science professor won my heart because of his youth, vision, and seemingly fearless demeanor.

Front row event seating rarely has a downside.

When then, does it have a downside?

When you are a speaker.

Particularly the kind of speaker that likes to prepare in the very back, out of sight.

Fear is one of two things for everyone

Lyft rides summary
After a lifetime of driving myself to the airport, enter Lyft. i will never use a taxi again. Doubtful i will ever drive myself and park at the airport again.

I have lived my life according to this principle: If I’m afraid of it, then I must do it.  – Erica Jong

Fear is one of two things for everyone.

  1. Discomfort
  2. Invitation

Discomfort doesn’t nurture nor feed our comfort zone, so we avoid or escape it.

Invitations are opportunities for the taking.

Everything takes longer than you expect

Disney Keynote Speakers
i’ve been dreaming for a few years that someone would cross my path that could create images like these. This image includes the Adobe Spark watermark. We’ve since upgraded the subscription to eliminate all watermarks.

Generally speaking, everything takes longer than you expect.

So please don’t become impatient or discouraged by your inability to quickly accomplish certain things.

Impatience and discouragement are sure bets for quitting.

Quitting leads to wondering “what might have been”.

“Might have been” leads to regret.

And reget, last time i checked, sucks.
