You should hate it more

Only a few apps on iPhone home screen

(photo: How many apps we have is a decent indicator to many other things… simplicity is the ultimate sophistication)

You don’t hate it enough.

Hate smoking enough and you’ll quit.

Hate being overweight enough and you’ll quit being overweight.

Hate feeling alone enough and you’ll quit feeling alone.

Hate being in debt enough and you’ll get out of debt.

Hate relying on alcohol enough and you’ll quit drinking alcohol.

Hell yeah these are bold statements.

You know how it’s possible to absolutely know?

Will give you one guess.

No theory at Mid Life Celebration.

Ever.

When we least expect it, we see something rare, and meaningful

Five years ago it became brutally apparent that some personal promises were desperately unfulfilled.

Special note to self (and maybe the most important one ever):

Rehearsal is over. No more practice.

Start living.

The only thing more contagious than enthusiasm is the lack of it.

Feed yourself first.

The one thing so easy to completely forget after the honeymoon

The one thing so easy to completely forget after the honeymoon of excitement – you know, the honeymoon of initial, feels-great-to-be-recommitted energy around promises we made to course correct after decades of Baby Boomer wandering.

The whole part about changing.

Remember?

Changing… wanting to… promising to recommit… remember?

To tackle today in a balanced way, I love jumping from mind (this blog) to body (this blog).
