The official release and start of If Disney Ran Your Life will happen within 30 days it seems.

If Disney Ran Your Life Podcast update:

  • 22 Episodes recorded as practice and labeled Season 1 (14 episodes) and Season 2 (8 episodes).
  • All 22 episodes will go into the vault.
  • Offical release of the Grand Opening (Season 3) episode will likely happen June 8 (60th birthday), or maybe June 25 (wedding anniversary).

Son, the plan and the way it worked out aren’t even close. What’s remarkable about this is that i had the guts (attitude) to change everything after listening to the first two episodes.

Update July 13, 2019: Five Season 3 episodes ready to go – waiting on an official release date announcement. You won’t believe what we did to record the first official episode.

Son, remember this during your freshman year. From the very beginning, dream about how you can offer something(s) to the world that it would gladly pay you for.

When you graduate, you’ll be ahead of others who are under-focused on this or ignore this for four important years.

You reap what you sow

Disney Keynote Speaker
A potential Indonesian client is using a consulting company to find a Disney Theme Park speaker. On a video Zoom call, the consultants saw all the Disney “trophies” on the bookcase behind me and suggested i include some photos in the proposal. Included this photo and few others i took yesterday to add in the proposal i sent last night.

You reap what you sow.

You don’t win a Disney Lifetime Achievement Award, the award is bestowed on you. You receive it because the rigorous and anonymous Disney selection criteria and process focuses on behaviors. This is such a big deal that being nominated is considered a high honor.

Once nominated, names are removed and only the Cast Member’s behaviors are shared with the selection committees.

In the photo above, Partners In Excellence was Disney’s original Lifetime Achievement Award. It was retired after 15 years and replaced with the Walt Disney Legacy Award in 2012.

Yesterday was such a cool day because we visited all four Walt Disney World Theme Parks, two Disney Resorts, the Disney Casting Center, and Disney University.

Why?

Jody Maberry had this idea that we could record a Podcast season in one day. He arrived on the red-eye flight from Seattle 24 hours ago. By 9:30am we took the top photo.

By 9:30pm, he was back at Lee Cockerell’s home.

The 14 basement tapes are completed

If Disney Ran Your Life Podcast
Recorded Episode 14, the final episode for Season One, yesterday as the Liberty Belle riverboat cruised by.

The 14 basement tapes, as i call them, are completed.

If Disney Ran Your Life is my new podcast, hosted by Jody Maberry, on iTunes and Stitcher (for Android).

Season one didn’t start as practice, but after listening to the first two episodes, i immediately changed gears. Everything we did in those 14 recording sessions was experimental.

There’s a chance those episodes will be removed from public consumption.

Season two, the soft-opening, is next and then the official world-premiere of If Disney Ran Your Life. Season two also may become private. Time will tell.
