Art’s paradox

This song (see artist and title at top of photo), while sitting on our patio, inspired this post and the video below…
49-second video: Thank you Joni, for the impromptu inspiration.

The paradox of Art is that art is a circus.

It’s a freak show.

You go to the freak show to see the thing no one’s seen before.

Freakish attracts human attention.

Humans are curious.

Freakish is exciting.

Art?

Totally.

Who knew?

2024’s final week, mind

Mickey Mouse and Jeff Noel at Disney Institute
Mickey just told me he and Minnie have never had Christmas week off.

Have had the past decade of Christmas weeks off.

Ten straight years.

The full week from Christmas Eve to New Years Day.

Off.

Why?

Started a business in 2009. Then retired from Walt Disney World in 2014.

Email signature 2014

Mid Life Celebration, business card
Old photo from 2008: First business card, 2008. Originally, there were four categories (pictured here). Then a blinding flash of the obvious: The fifth category is the large box holding the four smaller boxes.
Old photo from 2014: Love seeing this 2013-version of my personal-business email signature.

Note: Today’s posts are inspired by long-awaited photo uploading from old external hard drives.

First, just want to acknowledge today’s posts are publishing August 1, 2025. This is a long way from the December (cold) temps we are experiencing now as i write these posts.

Live like you mean it. Life is not a dress rehearsal. The book is generous, gentle, direct, and compellingly hopeful https://amzn.to/1b7p6id Think deeper, smile more, feel grateful everyday. www.MidLifeCelebration.com

11 months (Jan-Nov 2024) divided by 223k equals a 20k minutes per month. That’s 338 hours per month. That’s about 11 hours per day.

Lots of songs.

Lots of bands.

Lots of videos about songs.

It’s a small world after all has a new verse here.

What’s in your wallet?

Home office desk
Simple. Artful. Challenging to do. More challenging to sustain. For a lifetime?

You know that CapitalOne commercial punchline, “What’s in your wallet?”

Let’s assume you know. But if you don’t know, it’s here.

Got the slogan in your head now. Perfect.

Next question (and read it like “What’s in your wallet?”)…

What’s in your drawer?

Your office desk drawer…and your brain’s ‘desk drawer’.
