If you’re not a dreamer, i’m out

Performance Excellence was Judson Green’s vision that began in 1992 and rolled out to all leaders in 1994.

If your goal isn’t impossible, i’m not going to be able to help you.

i thrive on helping others do what they think is impossible.

Tell me your crazy dream.

Take as long as you need.

And be clear, concise (if possible), and compelling.

Why?

Because compelling and clarity feed organizational vibrancy.

You’ll lose your team if they aren’t compelled by the clarity of where you are heading.

And if you lose your team, this means you’ll also lose their teams.

And this repeats itself until it spreads contagiously to your frontline staff.

You’ll also lose me if you aren’t clear and compelling.

Make it so your team’s (and my) only reaction to what you’re saying is, “Wow, that’s incredible.”

Why confidence is often misinterpreted

Self-improvement
Self-improvement is the path to confidence. Being a superior human being means being superior to your younger self, not others.

Why is confidence often misinterpreted?

A confident person carries something intangible yet recognizable.

It’s often called “it”.

People may remark, “I don’t know what it is, but she has it.”

Karma?

Vibe?

Aura?

And then introduce math to this thread.

Between introverts, extroverts, job function, experience, and so on, the radiance (or perception) projected will have a spectrum of intensities.

The outgoing public figure may seem arrogant.

The shy genius may seem inept.

Confidence.

Weirdly maddening.

My Greatest Mental Failures in 2017

Blink camera failure
Batteries marketed as having two-year life span. This one (above) lasted three days. In the past this would have made me angry. Have had issues with Blink cameras from the start.

My Greatest Mental Failures in 2017:

About a handful of times, i got angry  – less than a minute each time. i believe it’s possible to live without anger.

If you had two and one half years to live

Disney's Pluto
See ya later. Photo from the USATF Annual Meeting a few days ago.

At this point in life, i am asking myself if i should be immersed in doing what i love.

For context, i’m not oblivious to the daily adult responsibility that never goes away.

So i’m fully cognizant that i can’t abandon my adult roles.

What i’m talking about now is what would appear to be the art of living, loving, thinking, playing, contributing, and leaving.

Loving, thinking, playing, contributing, and leaving.

Loving, thinking, playing, contributing, and leaving an organized compass for my family, particularly our son (16).

It would seem to me that every aspect of what i do now ought to be filtered through the lens of love, joy, art, and contribution.

It would also seem there is zero room for fitting into a prescribed way or mold.

Should we dare to follow our own voice?

Even if it’s something others may frown upon, or worse, think is crazy, self-indulgent, or ridiculous?

Playing it safe ruins it for ourselves

Residential average near Disney World
Neighbor’s new home is almost ready for the foundation cement pour. To have a beautiful home or a beautiful soul and only being able to pick one, which would we pick?

Playing it safe denies our desire to become authentic.

Denying our desire to be authentic poisons our soul.

Our soul and our attitude are inseparable.

Poisoning the soul means poisoning the attitude.
