3 basic tools for growth and positive change

Nursing home info board
Upper left, November 5th (yesterday). Be intentional about preparing for your death. Ask and answer life’s important questions with a determined sense of urgency. Some questions take decades to answer. Fear is a poor excuse to postpone your efforts (and obligation).

Three basic tools for growth and positive change:

  1. Paradox
  2. Questions
  3. Common Sense

With yourself and others, argue like you’re right and listen like you’re wrong.

And be convinced about where you stand.

No one else can do this for you.

Please remember, your clock is always ticking.

No amount of rationalization makes it ok to leave this as a burden for someone else, especially when you don’t discuss it with them.

First time for everything

Nursing home room
The floor pad next to the recliner chair at 5:00AM.

Volunteered to spend the night in Cedarbrook’s D221B room.

While this happened, Americans set their clocks back one hour.

Today is November 5, 2017.

Eight hours of sleep with a couple waking moments as Nurses performed their overnight duties.

i’d never slept on the floor at the bedside of a Nursing Home resident until last night/this morning.

And yesterday’s funeral service for my 91-year old Father-In-Law was a beautiful Earthly send off to a Heavenly and Eternal resting place.

Just Siri it

Siri screen
Just Siri it and find what you need.

Just Siri it.

So yeah, i made up this phrase yesterday.

It’s gonna be a thing.

Not at first, but eventually.

And i’ll Just smile and remember the day when i got the whole thing started.

Don’t believe me?

Just Siri it and see for yourself.

PS. This was just for fun, and quite possibly a true statement.

Great habits pay and we pay for poor habits

spider and spider web
The web we weave becomes an asset or a trap.

Great habits pay dividends.

Poor habits are expensive and often feel irreversible.

Try and change a life that’s been shaped by negative thinking, blame, and bad karma.

Try to defeat a life that’s been filled with determination, good karma, and positive thinking.

Of course you don’t know when you’ll die

Funeral in two days.

And a second funeral is imminent.

When is yours?

Of course (with some exceptions), no one knows.

Begs these questions though.

Will you be prepared?

Will you dwell in regret?

Will you be at peace?

Will you feel joy for what lies ahead?
